    Sample of piano...

Well, thanks. The softsynths sound so much better on my website. I would like to use my piano more though. Actually, I'm wanting to get this piano sounding like them, but I don't think it's gonna happen. Now, do these tracks sound stereo to you? Because I tried to make them stereo.

    ZOOM MRS-4 users needed...

I'd say make sure your drivers on the mrs-4 are up to date. There was a new driver for the mrs-8, which I need to update, and that makes me guess there is at least one for the mrs-4 too. But, that really sucks. I just used mine and had no problems whatsoever, except I can't seem to get the...

    Sample of piano...

Hi, this is really for the folks talking to me over in the recording technique forums, but it you have any insight on the perfect way to mic piano, I'm sure having a hard time. I imagine the levels came out really low. I didn't want to clip the multitrack, which seems to be cliphappy. Edit...

Best type of mic for piano?

Head on over... I've got a sample of what I've been messing with today. The levels are really low though, that little machine I have clips really easily! I put it in the mp3 clinic. PS No fighting in my thread...:D

And, in Sonar, you can just import an mp3. Maybe audacity will do that. Maybe it's in the conversion process. Probably not, but I'll try anything when the shit hits the fan.

curious again...are you getting the mp3 files from someone else? It seems like I'd keep it a wav file if it were mine. Just an aside that doesn't answer this question. Have you tried something like reaper, just to make sure it isn't Audacity doing it? Is it an ongoing problem, or just this...

    ZOOM MRS-4 users needed...

What are you converting from mp3 to wav? Just curious. I have the mrs-8, but I haven't really used it much yet. I guess I've never listened to all my tracks through a software DAW yet to know if this is going to happen to me. Sounds weird though. Does it happen to everything? Or just this...

I will definitely let you know my results! I go home tomorrow, and I'll mess with my own mics until the Naiants get here.

Best type of mic for piano?

Hee hee, I can't *afford* any of it, but I still buy it. Apl, I got two mics, and two of the shockmounts. Rather have those than the clips.

Best type of mic for piano?

Experimentation sux. LOL. You guys are supposed to have the definitive answer! I did purchase those mics apl mentioned, so we'll give those a whirl, since they are a matched pair. Might have a little self-noise I won't like, but we'll see. For now, though, I'm stuck with two mics. Unless I...

Best type of mic for piano?

Yeah, I've heard that too, lol. Still I have a pair of Behringer monitors...but that's IT, I swear. LOL. And Sonic Albert, I'll try micing with more, if I can figure out how. I could just buy more stands, but since I just bought those mics and some shockmounts for them, I don't know right...

Best type of mic for piano?

But I don't have that many mic stands, lol. No, seriously, good info there, THANK YOU!

Best type of mic for piano?

Where would you put the NTK? In the middle? I've been micing the soundboard, as I read in some Shure thing that it is the most natural. Maybe that's not what I want. As far as the C3 and the T3, I really like the T3 better; it's got a tube, and just sounds better at least on my voice. I...

Best type of mic for piano?

Thanks SonicAlbert et al, Apl those mics are cheap, huh? Sounds pretty good on piano, though I have no clue how they used them.

Best type of mic for piano?

Bummer, I really wanted stereo sound out of the piano. It just sounds better. I'll try the ntk though. I used the C3 and that is probably why it sounds harsh.

Best type of mic for piano?

I just want to get a decent sound down at home. My real studio has been moved to a different location. I don't want to buy anything, cause I've put so much into this hobby already! I mean, I will buy in the future, just not right now. I DID buy another mic stand though, lol. Let's just say...

Best type of mic for piano?

Hi all... I have two dynamics, 1 small condenser (sounds surprisingly good) 1 large diaphragm and 2 tube mics. I have no idea what to do. I would like to record in stereo. I used one mic the other day, and it came out kind of harsh, and not as good as my keyboard, which I've heard people...

    Sonar 7

Yeah, I just got 6 producer not too long ago myself. Bummer. But, I don't think I'll upgrade.

    cheap ribbon mic

I have both the ribbon mic and the power plug, and the power plug works great; you need phantom power to run it though. Brings it up to match your condensors. Right now this mic is my fave.
