Dropouts at low CPU % and the Starved 1 & 0 option

K, here's what I figured out...I finally found it in Sonar 2, don't know why I couldn't see it the first, oh, million times I looked. But, it's not in Sonar 3 aud.ini file. Is it possible to do this in Sonar 3, that you guys are aware of, or was this functionality removed? Or are you guys as...

Dropouts at low CPU % and the Starved 1 & 0 option

Need some detailed instructions, I think. Hey guys, I've been searching a lot, but I can't for the life of me figure out how these people are doing this stop if starved technique. When I open my aud.ini file, there is no line that says this to scroll down to, though all the posts say that all...

Dropouts at low CPU % and the Starved 1 & 0 option

Alan, I don't know yet. I have lots of dropouts, with just one track even. Ha ha, so there that is. Hence, my interest in this question specifically. -Kirstin

Dropouts at low CPU % and the Starved 1 & 0 option

Well, actually I mean 2.2 v. Sonar 3, not that it all of a sudden disappeared or anything. Are people just typing this line in the aud.ini file? Would that even work like it would have on others? The thing is I never tried it on any of the programs, either. If you are to type something like...

Dropouts at low CPU % and the Starved 1 & 0 option

Does anyone know if there is a stop if starved function in the aud.ini any longer in Sonar 3, that is? I don't see it, but maybe it's named something else? In the Sonar support on Cakewalk's site, it does say you should delete everything under a certain place, and then save the aud.ini file...

Anyone know a good Reverb plugin?

What you may need to do is increase your latency a bit. I actually have to do that using it with the other vst adapter. Try it anyway. If you go to the directixer site, it says something about SIR specifically, and others like it. -K It worked for me.

    Audio interface for windows laptop

Hi Kipper, I probably shouldn't be even trying to answer this, but I know a couple of answers... The audio interface IS your soundcard basically. You don't need to buy another, in my estimation of things, so once you get the MAudio or whatever you choose, you're done. I don't know if that...

Softsynth / Sampler suggestion for Sonar 2.2

Also, lots of people like the Vsampler...but I noticed while using it that when I play the keyboard as the trigger, the sustain pedal doesn't work for me. Everything is staccato as can be. When I use livesynth pro to play the same soundfonts...it works. Not really related, and I'm sure...

Softsynth / Sampler suggestion for Sonar 2.2

are soundfonts basically samples? When we're talking about an analog recorded piano soundfont? Just checking. I think they would be like samples, even if played in a softsynth dxi player or whatever. Is that the kind of line blurring you're talking about? October's issue of Music Tech...

sound only coming out of one speaker during playback

What is your soundcard? You're using just one, for Cakewalk AND cd playback? On my multi-channel card, I can set in the panel each track left and right (not in Cakewalk, I mean, but in the sound card's panel) and it would not affect overall playback on the cd, because there is a pan on the...

    Simple 2 track ballad

Well, give me some Tom. What the hell? You need to hoard all that shit so none of us can have any? :D Thanks for the pep talk dobro, and Sluice, hope you're doing well. -Kirstin

Birdsallinteractive...funny, I thought it was about birds somehow. Makes total sense now! Would have never put the birds and the all together until you said that. Have a good one. And, today, after work, we ARE going to a Martini bar, so I'll have one and toast you. -K.

    Simple 2 track ballad

You know, though, it seems like that songwriting forum focuses so intently on lyrics. I could be totally wrong about that, but I don't even know how to use eq and the like properly, so of course I need to learn that, but it's not my main interest either. So, I hear you there Sluice, and wanted...

    Plug in delay compensation

Which of the wrappers did Cakewalk take over? Was it the fxpansion adapter, or the DirectiXer by tonewise? I was using an old version of fxpansion, but I just purchased the DirectiXer. The most recent version has pdc for both vst and dx. Is the updated one from Cakewalk actually a version of...

    Critique me please!

Robertt8, I really like this! And, I think you're stuff is sounding really well recorded and mixed. Not that I would know how to do that myself. I love your voice, and consistently like to listen to your songs. And it does have a cool, latino-esque groove to it, that I really like. Makes...
