Pretty good sound. I listened to "Set Myself Free" and the song about Dave. The one "set myself free" caught my eye. I've got one titled "Set My Soul Free" at this location. http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/album.php?aid=2124&alid=-1
I think you could put the lyrics of those two...
The hardware version that is due to arrive today is advertised as being able to pick specific notes within a scale to "home in" on. I'm going to run it after the fact in a loop. I don't plan on running it for the whole song. But I think I can punch it in and out in the right spots with it...
Yeah..... the unit I bought isn't the Vocal Processor. I'm not trying to model mics. I just want something that will fix intonation in my voice when it ain't right. We'll see how good it works for that.
Like I say... if it isn't good... I'll sell it for what I can and minimize the damage.
If you really want to save money...... and time.
Buy three 8 foot 2x4's. $1.99 each. Buy one box of 2 inch construction screws for $4.99. Make a 2x4 frame screwed together with construction screws. (cut and use two of the 2x4s for the upright pieces and cut the other for the...
I've read a lot of posts about the thing. I knew you didn't like it. And a lot of people do like it.
That "undue artifacts" is going to be the key isn't it?
I figure if I dont' like it I'll put it on ebay for a couple hundred bucks and tell my wife this wasn't a good birthday present...
Yeah.... I took it that the 4 ms delay was it's reaction time in tuning.... not that it would delay the signal? Maybe I didn't think about it right. I think the recomended usage is to loop it through an effects loop. I payed $7 to have it shipped 2 days (even though zZounds offered the...
I like this song.... I'm really not sure why... but I do. It grew on me :) Ummm I'd like the drums a little quieter at the start. They sound mixed well once it all picks up... but maybe a little loud at first?
Good harmony. Guitar works and sounds good. Sounds like you...
I just now bought it from zZounds for $329. Should be here in 2 days. (My birthday was this week!) I'll post here in a couple of days as to how well it works looping it.
Later
I'm looking at one of these units too. I use an AW4416. You do have to record on one channel and then loop it to another channel...... or go through it when you record.
I figure I can record the initial vocal on say track 1.....then loop it through the autotune to whatever.... and then...
I think the vocals could be louder... but I also know that there have been a LOT of hit songs that had the vocals mixed in as if they were another instrument. And there have been a lot of hit songs that people had to listen to more than once to understand the vocals. (I can think of a few...
Thanks for the comments Groucho and Boydrj.
The lady singing....... you know she almost never has pitch problems.... but we got this project given to us late...and it was a rush job.... and she is 37 years old and 7 months pregnant :) Seriously. She struggled a little on what would...
Not really my style.. :) But it sounds well done to me. Based on this song I think you chose your screen name well. This song has a groove that won't quit.
Okay... I went back up in the thread and found where you had posted the new link. It worked.
Reverb level is a lot better. Vocal needs to be louder?
Here's another musical suggestion that you can feel free to ignore if you choose...... especially on this type of music... it isn't...
Yeah.... she does have some minor pitch moments. I think she recognized that after getting the cd. I do have some compression on her vocal. Not super heavy...... but I also have a light combination compressor / expander on the stereo track.
She and I were asked to write a song like...
Okay......Thanks for the critique.
I took twist's advice and cut her voice 4.5 db at 5K.... and 2 db at 2K. Then bumped her vocal track up 1 db. I gave her a copy of it like that. (I'm doing this on a Yamaha AW4416)
I've posted the 2nd version out there..... and I left the first out...
