Good sound. Nice recording. Thought the backup git was to loud after about 2:30 of the song. Pretty well covered up the snare completely toward the end.
Good vocal and instrumentation. You know... the only real gripe is that the song is 4:17 long.... you've got 3 12 to 15 second...
To make your recording better. Spend $15 bucks on a pop filter. Lay off the flanger on the voice.
Secondly.... you gotta find a singer..... or decide that it's just a hobby. Hey I can't sing either.... every band I've ever been in has insisted that I only sing AFTER midnight. But what I...
I liked it. Good sounds, good track. Pretty creative. Good keyboard and git sounds. Really intersting.
The weak link to me is the drum sounds. Sequenced well, but just weak sound compared to the rest of the track.
But a very good job..... as always.
Good song. Real well done. I thought the guitars sounded especially good. And I liked the kick pattern alternating grooves.
Nice tight performance with a quality sound that was good to listen to.
Thanks for the listen guys. Even you supercritic :)
Ghost..... the only version I'm familiar with is the one in 69 by Cat Mother and The All Night Newsboys. Maybe someone else covered it in the 70's? BTW.... the producer on the 69 version was Hendrix.
Not to argue the point..... but I really liked the acoustic guitar... because it sounded like an acoustic guitar. Not like an acoustic guitar that was plugged direct into a recorder. Personally.... I think it's got a really good tone. I'm sure it's a matter of taste.
It's got a lot of potential. It's got some timing issues. I think that a quick fix that doesn't involve retracking stuff is to just turn the drum click off.
You know.... what you gotta do is lay down the first guitar really tight and listen really hard to the click while you're doing it...
Personally, I think you nailed the sound pretty well. I had a friend back then that owned a Moag Synth that sounded just like what your doing.
I know what you mean about the sound. Nice warm sound.
Now if you can nail "Paradise By The Dashboard Lights"...... I'll stand up and cheer...
I'm sorry I missed this the first time through. I liked this a lot. I'm going to keep a copy of this. I thought it was creative. And I REALLY like the acoustic guitar sound.
Good headphone mix too.
Warm sound...... not brittle. Not twangy. Even without lyrics it's pretty cool...
Interesting song. Well done. I really liked the piano during the solo. Also liked when the percussion came in. Vocal is good. Harmonies are good and tasteful.
This song is crying for some real cymbals. Some shshsshshhshs stuff accents. The crash in that patch is not very good...
It's a good mix. I listened to a few on your site the other day. The guy singing does really well. The music is real well played. Like the keyboard on the left. 4 and a half minutes is a long time without some break in the instrumentation in my opinion. Maybe work some other...
I liked the song. I think the vocal level was where it should be for this style. I'm a Dylan fan too. Nice chord progression. Good tempo and flow. Very listenable.
Didn't much care for some of the guitar work. Add a b3 and a harmonica on there.... and you got it.
Nice job!
Criticize the mix not the art? See... I have a tough time separating that. That's one of the reasons I say that I'm not a great engineer. The really good engineer guys here can do that all day.
Sorry for the critique. I just posted to let you know that some of are listening.
Best wishes.
By panning I was talking about the guitars.
Vocals.... louder? I don't know...... that's scary. But hey.... I'm not a good singer... who am I to criticize.
I listened to the song. But I didn't comment. You know... it's just not my genre. And I didn't really feel comfortable commenting .... because I'm not a great engineer. I'm just an average musican with an opinion.
That being said..... I think lyrics in a song should be mostly understood...
Thanks for listening Mix and Hvy.
You know..... there is distortion on the vocal because of a hot preamp..... that's intentional. But I picked up some distortion on the bass while making the master track. That wasn't. I'm still not sure why.... but I re-did it and it is better...
