    carl james, For micing a snare use a 57, a popular mic for the kick would be a AKG D112 and for over heads you should look at a condensor or a super flat dynamic. I could be wrong, and please someone correct me if i am, but i don't think the 58 will be much use for micing drums as a room mic...
