I've got a decent handle on lots of stuff...but I haven't really expanded my skills in the couple of years of experience with it. With that being said, there is probably a lot I could/should learn. However, I also get along well with what I already know.
Thanks for your help.
Don't get me wrong...the SM 58 is a tremendous mic, but mostly for live sound reinforcement in my opinion. I would have a hard time choosing my SM58 over my Neumann in practically any situation...unless I was trying to capture the sound of a mic falling 5 feet to the ground!
The SM 58 is...
Okay, here's my reason for joining the BBS. I need some help with DP3. Anyone out there use DP3 that can help? I'm not sure where to post this, so I thought I would try here in the Newbie's forum.
I've done a search to see if the answer is already in a thread somewhere, but I didn't find it...

Digital Performer 3
Mac G4 Dual 867s
Mackie 1402 - VLZ
MOTU 2408 mkII
Neumann TLM-193 for vocals
2 Octava mk-01 for acoustic guitars
1 Beta 57A for all 'round good sounds

Pro Tools is certainly great, but I use DP3 and am a big fan. I'm not a pro studio, but I am aware of pro studios using DP. I've never worked with Cubase, but I've heard good things. Anyone know what are the pros/cons of Cubase when compared to PT or DP?
I didn't read all the postings, (too many posts and too little time), but I don't see Digital Performer as an option on the survey or as a comment on the first page of threads.
I'm a newbie, so feel free to flame away if I've missed something obvious, but where is DP? Am I the only one using...
Okay, I've been looking around for a while and decided to step up and join. So, here I am. Fresh fish. Take your best shots now! Come on...any and all insults are welcomed. I've seen some pretty good insults on other BBS. Let's see what you guys can do!!!
In my opinion, you can't go wrong with the Beta 57A. Great all 'round mic. Durable, sounds great, and reasonable price. There's a reason they're considered a standard...quality.
