    Recording stereo drum machine

well, it can get that way...but i'm not a drummer so i don't try and write super realistic sounding loops. i make a loop with a few fills then every time that part of the song repeats...i just copy and paste. i can do a whole song in an afternoon. that's not too long for me cause i try not to...

    Recording stereo drum machine

well, it's both. the prerecorder loops don't work fo rme either, but luckily most of the loop discs com with one shots. i just take the one shots and create my own kit and go from there. you can get acid 2.0 on ebay for $40-$50. not sure about retail though.

    Recording stereo drum machine

i've had really good luck with ACID. i program an entire song then export it one track at a time into cakewalk and then everything has its own track.

    Please help a newbie!

well, for starters, since you work with puters and obviously know about them, i personally would suggest building a machine deticated to recording, a.k.a. a DAW machine. but if that's not in your budget i definitely can understand. you might need to get a new sound card geared more towards...

gag, i use cakewalk 9 and now that i've gotten the driver issues sorted out(for now) it works fine. i might upgrade to WINME tonight though...98 MUST DIE!! :) so that means opening up a whole new can o' worms with the drivers...i'll let ya know what happens.

Oh joy! Another simple soundcard question

you could try a lexicon core 2. drivers are a bit quirky but its got a adat link plug so you can dump all 8 tracks trough it. they're discontinued so you can get them for about a hundred bucks. drivers only support win98 though. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1507679707

hmmmmmm, it may be a cubase/core 2 issue. as i said in an earlier post nuendo won't even work with the core 2, and to my understanding(i may be way off here) nuendo is basically a suped up version of cubase. compatibility issues are SO frustrating. i'll try and mess with some cubase stuff...

fim, i ran into the clicks and pops myself cubase. i'm not in front of my recording machine right now(i'm at work), but off the top of my head... 1. make sure that you have the most current drivers http://www.lexicon.com/downloads/core2_downloads.asp 2. if you need to upgrade your drivers...

lavoz. i totally agree with everything you said. as i stated before it a good card as far as audio quality. my only real complaint is and will be the buggy drivers. and because of those not only can you not upgrade your os, but some newer software like nuendo won't run with it(my friend who has...

hey fimpen, what kind of problems have you had? driver related? what software are you using to record with? i've had enough problems, and worked through them to maybe help you a little.

once again, my $.02... i think audiodog needs to check his attitude and ego at the freakin door. if we on this particular thread were the type to go spend $5000 on an equipment shopping spree would we really be having a discussion on a 3-4 year old, discontinued sound card? i wish i could spend...

1st of all, i never said anything about the quality of the recording with a core 2. i simply stated the FACT that the drivers for it suck. i do good recordings with it all the time 2nd, i wanna hear this $160 danelectro that sounds as good as a les paul standard

    newbie question

well, if he's got the digi001 then its got pre's in it. your method of recording depends on your preference. i always mic my amp...but i've also never found an amp simulator that i liked. i've heard some tracks that were done with amp sims that sounded great but once again it kinda depends on...

    lexicon core opinion

well, when you upgrade/add any recording software you have to completely uninstall then reinstall the drivers. sounds easy enough, but less than a week ago i spent three hours on just that one thing. the drivers don't always WANT to uninstall. and sometimes the installing/reinstalling process...
