    Turntable Recommendations

The 1200s are the way to go. Your mixer decision will depend on if you plan to scratch/juggle beats, do live remixing, or just beat match.

Ok. Best B3 emulation/Best Rhodes emulation.

the B4 also comes as a DXi, so no need for a wrapper. I'm sure NI's Elektrik Piano would as well

    Cubase SE Vs. Cool Edit

Changing a sample rate won't affect your pitch. Sample rate refers to how many 'samples' (digital snips of what's going on in the audio) your converter records in a second. For example, CD-quality sound has a 'sample rate' of 44100 samples/second. Changing from 32k to 22k won't affect the pitch...

    Cubase SE Vs. Cool Edit

Komoney- I've used CEP since 2.0 came out about 3 years ago. I recently purchased Cubase SE for sequencing only, but I still tend to use CEP for all my sample editing. Do you plan to do any sequencing, or do you just intend to record live instruments?

My First Lyric Attempt (please no foul language)

No sir, I did not. I believe he wanted help on his song, not his song in consideration of his age. But I too would like to know if you're only 12. Cause I sure hope no one knows heartache like that before he's a teenager.

My First Lyric Attempt (please no foul language)

Is it good if he's not 12?

    drum loop question

Im sure Shadow uses live breaks in his mixes, but he's a fine producer, and can pick the hits that go together, then compress and effect them as a mix. Loops aren't lazy.... diggin' through miles of crates, finding the right tracks, the cutting them up takes more effort then asking a drummer to...

    Soft-Sampler Quandry

Kompakt's library is far superior to Kontakt's. Kontakt's is actually kind of sad. But the parameter shaping is more limited with Kompakt. If you buy Kontakt, you can buy Kompakt (with its library) for $100. That ends up at $479. Or, you could buy Kompakt, then upgrade to Kontakt for $220...

Confused can you help me ASAP

Do you already have a computer? If so, you should reconsider softsynths. For the amount you're interested in spending, you'll get much more variety (and probably quality)

    Problem with importing MIDI

Oh, I see. My mistake. Do you have a hardware metronome? You could mic it up, or mine has a headphone jack, you could take a line out. Im sure there are electronic metronomes for under $20 availible. Good Luck Chris

    Problem with importing MIDI

Well, Cool Edit can play back a midi file, but you won't hear it unless you've got an hardware MIDI module hooked up to an interface. But luckily, COOL EDIT has a metronome built right in, with adjustable time signatures and click sounds! Just hit Options--> metronome, and adjust away. I've...

    Monitor rig for home studio

I hate when people tell you to use the search function, but friend, you should use the search function. This HAS to be the absolute number one question asked on these boards, and its been discussed everyday for the last 4 years. (or however old this forum is). There's already three similiar...

    That 60s Drum Samples?

NS also makes the 'mini' kit, which I think is a better representation of the sound you (and I) want, but it can get a little old if used repeatedly. I have this http://www.soundsonline.com/sophtml/details.phtml?sku=TASCDR-62, which is mostly loops, but it has all the individual hits at the...

    midi multi module control

Technically, if you can get all your modules operating on different channels, and your cables hooked up correctly, you wouldn't need any extra hardware, but I'd suggest a 'midi' mixer, which is ostensibly does the same thing as an audio mixer, controlls your ends and outs. You'll find one for...

    Roland AX-7 MIDI Controller

Roland makes fine controllers.... I can't imagine it matters if its on your desktop, a stand, or hanging from your shoulders. I do think, however, they are overpriced.

Best method for transposing sheet music

Is it original sheet music? I.E. something you created in scoring software? If not, I don't think its possible to scan in written music, and ask sequencer to transpose it. You could ask the pianist to play the song (either in the original key, or transposed within the piano) and record the...
