    Cool Edit vs. N-track

I dont think they'll be much of a curve from N-Track to CEP. You'll be able to do everything just as easily, and soon you'll discover better ways to work faster, and new features. I guess a learning curve is inherent in learning to edit audio, but I think CEP makes it as easy as possible...

Surfs Up! Ventures Walk Don't Run

This sounds slower to me... I think that's why some might hear less groove

Slowing down the tempo of mp3

perottols suggestion will work, but it will sound terrible... They only advantage to doing this would be for a special effect (lots of folks do this to drums loops) or if you wanted to slow down a guitar riff so you play along (or something along those lines)... -Chris

    Asio...ever?!

I bet Adobe would do it. My guess is that Syntrillium didn't want to use Steinberg's drivers, just like they didn't want to use Steinberg's VST effects code. Since Adobe has cross platform products (mac & PC) and welcomes third-party pluging makers, I don't think they'd be opposed. But who...

    metronome

I've never had CEP record the metronome. My guess is you have a soundcard issue... might it be set to a "what you hear" mode? What kind of card do you have? What inputs are you using?

I run CEP 1.2 what am i missing out on?

Don't give me too much credit.... all I did was copy the WHAT'S NEW IN 2.0 from the help file :D -Chris

    yet, another effects question

Unfortunately, the answer you seek will be subjective for EVERY track you ever effect, with reverb or any of the rest. I'd suggest starting with the Wet at 0% and the dry at 100%. Slowly add the Wet until you have almost enough, then pull down your dry until its perfect. The Wet/Dry in the...

    Cool Edit vs. N-track

Multitracking on CEP is only part of its uses. It also has a FANTASTIC dedicated sample editor, that is listed along Wavelab (and maybe soundforge, now) as THE go-to editors. Though you might not know it yet, an editor is a VERY necessary tool in any studio. If you do any sampling (either your...

    M-Audio Radium 61

True. As a drummer, you understand groove. If you play with a metronome, you rarely hit right on the beat. The same applies with programming drums... though a midi controller won't really help with it. -Chris

    DXi/VSTi's In Real Time

The Cheap version of FruityLoops will play VST instruments... You might also consider sequencing your VSTi track, then bouncing it down as audio to open in CEP. And, unless your a great pianist, you'll probably get a better performance. -chris

Anyone wanna sell/ship me about 10-12 pieces of 703 for thier cost? :)

C7- Where do you buy 703 in Cincinnati? I don't think I'd call it an industrial center at all.... -Chris

    Sound quality

The Tascam 428 (?) will work with CEP, and will serve as an audio interface for your laptop. While I know nothing about its pre-amps or converters, this seems like a good option for you, if you want physical mixing and a better audio interface. -Chris

    Reverb for singers?

Change- Most CCM records are plagued with huge spatial reverbs. This gives them their characteristic sparkles and glitz. While I'd encourage you not to go this route, this will give the recording a similar to other CCM artists they might try to emulate. I forget what mics your using, but male...

    Reverse Swelling vocals?

The decay time is most important, obviously. The mix ratio, and room size are also important. You'll be amazed what a tiny little bit of delay will do. With tricks like this, it really is a special effect, so it needs to be used sparingly. Its not very pleasant to swap reversed reverb all over...

    Reverse Swelling vocals?

In Edit view, highlight the part you want to reverse, then hit Effects-->Reverse. This reverses the selection. Keeping it highlighted, add you delay/reverb to the reversed track, then reverse back with Effects-->Reverse. You track is playing the original program material, but with an added...
