Thanks mack- yes, it would but that's WAY out of my price range Yeppers- a duet partner would be good. You ain't a black female with an unusually good feel for soul and blues, are ya ? UK based. :)

    Looking for a matching player

Hello I've got the speakers for a now-defunct Pioneer XV-DV303 DVD/CD Receiver home cinema but I just want an amp/player for CDs , preferably with USB facility. There are 5 speakers and a subwoofer, each rated at 75w and 8 Ohms. Can somebody please recommend something suitable to drive them...

Need amp/effects pedals for blues, blues rock, classic rock

Yes. Maybe even dispense with most pedals and concentrate on a good amp. and good blues guitar.

How best to record the band on separate tracks ?

I'm becoming inclined towards simply using the PMP6000 for ' one track' live recording and using the EMU 1820M at home for multi-tracking. It has enough inputs, I think, and we can overdub for a finished mix. Will this do the job ? EMU 1820M Inputs and outputs. 8) Ch. ADAT Optical In (8)...

How best to record the band on separate tracks ?

My experiences of pro studios have not been positively memorable- so a home studio is definitely for us. It will be rewarding to learn- and economical over time. Any recommendations on a ten-input audio interface ? Also an eight-input as you say they are more readily available. We can...

How best to record the band on separate tracks ?

Hello I'm a bit of a newb but I received excellent advice here on choosing speakers to match our Behringer PMP6000 active mixer for live performance- so I thought I'd ask this question here; We want to record ' live '- all playing together at home- and I'm just putting the PMP monitor output...

We've opted for a pair of the passive EVs- good deal by UK standards- and we can expand from there if necessary. It's a steep learning curve- but we're enjoying it. We even spent a pleasant afternoon together browsing the PMP6000 manual. That's dedication. Thanks for your help and...

No worries. We've got big girls.

    Speaker compatibility

Well- little chance of that. We're a quiet band. My worry was that the speakers wouldn't perform well with a lower-rated power mixer. The EVs scratch up easily, I believe- but I'll be painting them anyway.

Thank you, Dave. Will the PMP6000 drive them OK at 300W per channel ? They're 400W RMS 1600W Peak.

Are any of these suitable ? EV ELX 115 - Thomann UK Behringer B215XL Eurolive - Thomann UK The great thing about this sort of buying is that we get 30 days to try 'em out.

Thanks for your voluminous and mystifying discourses chaps- all very much appreciated. We've opted for five acoustic megaphones. With stands.

    Speaker compatibility

I'm way too busy to think about making my own speakers. I don't even have time to make my own trousers. I feel that I need 12" minimum for the band's range- plus something that gives clarity on the very top highs of guitar with effects and acoustic violin. That's HIGH. So looking at the...

    Speaker compatibility

I confess to confusion. I've been looking around and I can't find any passive pair that appears to be capable of making full use of this PMP6000 mixer. Output Power RMS @ 1% THD, both channels driven: 8R per channel: 300W 4R per channel: 600W RMS @ 1% THD, bridged mode: 8R 1200W Peak Power...

    Speaker compatibility

Thanks. Just asking- the Fostex are fine. Do you have a link to the Electrovoice pair ? The band's instrumentation ranges from bamboo flute, through keyboards, violin, skin hand-drums, electro-drum kit, fretless bass, synth guitar and an operatic soprano.

Thanks for that, Dave- but I already own the Behringer 6000 powered mixer. I'm wondering if I should buy a pair of powered speakers for it for live work. I've already got a couple of Fostex 5" for my little studio- and I'm wondering if a couple of powered PA speakers could double as studio...

If I can refine that question- which speakers would be best for me to use with that mixer for live performance and also for home studio monitors ? Powered speakers ?

As chance would have it, rob- the owner of the Peavey speakers wants them back so I'm in need of some new ones. Any recommendations for this mixer ? http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/behringer-europower-pmp6000-20-channel-powered-mixer
