I'm not ruling out stereo miking, its just that i really hate the hiss from self noise or low output mics, so i'm thinking of getting a 300$ mic instead of a 150$ one, so it will have lower noise floor. Maybe in the future i'll get another mic of the same type to make a pair.

Money is not the issue here, they're both fairly cheap.. i can use only the denser (45-60kg/m^3) glass or rock wool for both if its just better.

How come it isn't always a factor while tracking? i have no experience so i'm really asking. a lot of people say that they cant record with leakage (click tracks problems are mentioned a lot). So until now i've been looking at closed back sets only.

I just went to the ebay global website, and manged to find a pair of KRK RP5s (not RP6s) for 300$, free shipping. tax here is around 30% of the price, so it will be around 390$. Tapcos are 317$ here. Are the RP5s still better then the Tapcos S-5? or is it just the RP6s?

Well, i wish it was like that here. Here (israel), all the monitors i posted are around 500$, and the RP6s are 1040$. I know that the prices here are so different, that's why i did a poll and didn't ask what monitor is best for a specific budget, because i'm very limited in possibilities...
