Where do I get good info about clocks and what they can do for my setup which includes a MOTU2408 and an ADAT thus far. I hear it helps, though I don't exactly understand why. If it makes a difference, I usually use Nuendo and CEP. --MIKE

WHy are you only looking at the MKI of MOTU 2408? MKII has been going on ebay lately for about 500, which is pretty darn cool, but occasionaly they go for 350-400, which is even better.

Doesn't the digi002 go for about 2.5K? That is a huge chunk of 6K. If you get a great computer, even PC with dual processors and stuff that could be 1800$ by the time you include dual monitors. I assum you want that. I think the best sound is hard to achieve just by gear. I mean, you don't...

There are a good number of posts starting to show up in the rack and mic forums about the VTB-1. The reviews are very favourable, even against those 2,000$ preamps mentioned above...now I am not saying they are as good, but they are favourable. Anyway, you might want to check it out. --MIKE

It most likely was an 18" standard which is 1/5 feet. Then people realized it would be better to house all this stuff in a nice cabinet, so they added one inch for ears, and there you go. 19".... Just a theory. --MIKE
