Anyone know why they only put a 10mbps jack on there? I mean it would be like 30 cents to make it 10/100, at least I would think. The TCP stack is the same and the DHCP config is the same....it just irks me.
I would get a new guitar amp. The Line 6 doesn't do it for me. Have you considered a vintage Fender? A vintage Marshall? A VOX AC30? A Matchless? Anything??
I went to a flea-market once and got 500 reusable zip ties for 5$. That was about 6 years ago and I probably still have 350 of them. If you can find them, use them. They rock and help cable management a ton. Also, cut your power cords and attach new ends to them, that will make them custom...
I've heard mix reviews on the DDX board. I almost bought one once and then got the TASCAM DM-24 instead.
An M8 is great idea no matter what though, 8 good preamps for under a grand is always a plus.
SM-7 should be a great start to a vocal chain. I love that mic. I find it works VERY well for male singers, and raspy females. I think you might want something that either
1) is a little harsher than the presonus (some people would call it warmth)
2) Something that provides a less-airy and...
I second the rocktron vote. I don't remembe the exact model, but a friend of mine had a rocktron preamp that rocked. It was red on the front, if that helps.
Of course you could always get a Marshall JMP100, but I don't care for them much. Also there is the POD Pro.
Most digital mixers and controllers can do portions/all of the control of a BRC. I use my DM-24 to start/stop/ arm tracks etc. However since you have a Mackie 16 chn board, that might not be the best option. You might just want to get a BRC of of Ebay. They are pretty darn cool.
I have a smokey amp that is made out of an old marlboro red package. They are now banned and smokey amps doesn't use cigarette packaging anymore. They use cheap plastic. The thing is damn cool and can fit whereever a pack of smokes can. Anyway, might not be what you wanted.....not sure
I did a search, that was how I found this thread. I was hoping for live input...not canned stuff already written. Time has passed since the mic came out and everyone was speculating, so I wanted actual opinions and results.
I have one of these and haven't really found anything that it stood out on. I tried it on kick and floor tom and hated both of the tracks. I haven't tried it on guitar cabs yet, cause I usually use 57s and MXL 1006s, and I love the results. I sang through it for fun and didn't think it was...
Thanks for the suggestion (I am not great at Cubase Yet, either...so I don't know about normallzation in it).
Anyway, I ended up limiting it a little harder. I was worried it would sound awful, but so far so good. I listened to it on 3 sets of speakers and like it quite a bit.
I will keep...
I finally finished mixing a song...my first one in a few years, but the mix is too quiet. I am not sure how to fix it.
I mixed the song in Cubase SX 1, and then master in it too (to the best of my abillity). Basically, I took the song and ran it through Waves L1 Ultra-maximizer on "Master"...
have search the forums as hard as I could to find a good way to use the DM-24 as a controller for Cubase and haven't found what I was looking for.
I have used the Generic Remote method from the Tascam webiste and had an OK time with it. I would like the Jog/Shuttle wheel and the transport to...
