Cool! I mainly wanted a mixer with D.O.'s for live recordings, but they seem to come along with all this stuff which makes it cost more. Now I can get the 16 track mixer I wanted, use the inserts as D.O.'s, and probably save $600!. Thanks.

Thats why you can only bounce 3 at a time. Here's a little suggestion. Instead of repeating the record 3 then bounce to 4 process, try grouping tracks together that you can mix well, such as putting all guitar tracks together.

How about a lexicon MPX-100? It goes for around $250, and has just about everything you need, except overdrive.

Is it track bouncing you are trying to do? For that, all you do is record 3 tracks, then "bounce" then record the 1st 3 onto track 4. Then you have 1, 2, and 3 free. You can do this multiple times, but you loose a bit of quality each time. I'd say you can fet 10 decent sounding tracks this way.

If you've got the cash, it's well worth it...just don't get the cheep one.

No trick invoilved, I just use noise gates as a send/return effect. Now you can apply it to all of the tracks at once, and you can easily set the threshhold where it needs to be without guessing. Need to free up the fx card or tracks. Send the 8 recorded tracks to a stereo track with the noise...

Don't know much arout the art tube preamp, but BBE is great for enhancing the signals you like. I use it for bass guitar sometimes, but mostly for enhancing my final mix. Go to a music store and check one out!!
