Anyone do some drums for me? (Rock)

Ideally, real, live drums, with a real-life player :-). I'm still yet to do a sequenced-drumless mix, but I will do one tonight and post it up tommorrow Cheers Ben.

    New Mastering Contest

Well, you guys can master one of my tracks if you like ;-) Some guy mentioned before that the mix was good and would really benefit from being mastered well. Ok, so I'm just wanting one of my tracks mastered to be honest (i.e. for free). But it is in the spirit of home-recording. - If you're...

    Hats with or without tambourine?

I use tambourine, but I'm not a drummer. I'l just sample a tambourine and layer it on top of a hit-hat sample. Sounds pretty cool for pop-rock songs. Really depends on the feel you're going for, I guess

i need a drum machine that can remember whole songs.

Hi mate, I used to use the Alesis SR-16. That'l do the job. Its fairly old now and some of the samples might be considered a bit old, but it'l do the job. Dunno how much they're going for these days but you might be able to pick one up for around 100 quid or so (about $140, I think) Cheers :-)

Anyone do some drums for me? (Rock)

Ok, thanks all. If any of you can, that would be fantastic. I'l post up a drum-free version as soon as I can (I'm away this weekend) Best Ben.

If You Have An Open Mind

Man, I couldn't actually tel at first that original drums were a machine (until I heard a few tom fills and somebody else mentioned it), but can really hear the difference with real drums. Nice, very bloody nice work

    First mix - comments welcome

Newer mix is bloody awesome. Much wider. Nice one! Kick still sounds a bit quiet though. If you can't redo the kick, could you set up a midi trigger from the recorded kick sound to trigger a kick sample with more punch and definition. I dunno how you'd do this with your setup though. Nice one!

    Computer Programs

Jamin You can use a program called JAMIN. Its free, although I think there is only a linux version although I could be wrong. Typically, this prog is a rather proffesional set of mastering plugins.

How Can I Add Reverb As Im Recording From Pc?

I use a PIII 1GHz with just under a gig of ram and can just about squeeze enough real-time effects out of it as I require. Every effect I use requires more CPU usage, so my guess is that CPU is just as important if not occasionally more so, than memory. Admittedly my computer is around five...

    need more tracks cheap

Alternatively... I have a 24-track recording solution that only cost me £1 (price of a cdrom), using a Linux music distribution (DeMudi). If you have a half decent computer, you should be able to get some good results

Anyone do some drums for me? (Rock)

Hi all, I have a track, but the drums are just blatently programmed and I feel the overall track suffers as a consequence. Anyway, I have a rough mix at: www.cs.bham.ac.uk/~bhj/mp3s/introLatestMix.mp3 I can't offer any money, but in return I can do guitars for you if you need them. I'm a...

    Colab Anyone?

I'l put down some lead guitar and other guitar parts if you like. Probably best that whoever does bass (edit: and drums) to put that down first though. Cheers :-)

Goldie - looking chain. Comedy rap. Its good though, I like it, vocal sounds consistent to me :-)

    Should I rearrange/rerecord this?

I can play/put down some jazz/blues guitar for this if you wish if you can't get the original guitarist and am going to consider doing it again. Where are you based? Lovely track. EDIT: Ok, so you're based in the US. Well you can send me the wavs when you do re-cord it, and I can put down...

    honestly, how bad is this?

Ok, I'm not really familiar with the DP-01 8 recorder - is that analog, like a portastudio or digital or something? Ok, I just gave it another listen, I hear now that its not myspace. I'm no expert, but I feel that maybe you are over-doing the micing on the drums. Try and just use a couple of...

Thoughts on a relatively simple song?

I guess you were going for that effect on the vocal. I think you should make it less obvious however so that when the listener is listening to it, they're like - theres something going on with that vocal, I dunno what it is, but its interesting etc. Either that or take it out completely. Other...

    The Time I Took

Thats a lovely swinging groove. Some of the vocal harmonies almost remind me of Ozzy Osbourne/Black Sabbath etc. Fantastic mix. Perhaps, but only perhaps make the distorted guitar tones more rocking, although actually, I dunno, prob doesn't need it. Overall, I think the mix could be slightly...
