    Tascam M-520 No Output

Me too! I know, It's weird how one little wire can screw everything up

    Tascam M-520 No Output

GOT IT! A wire on the connector cable came off. Had to do a closer look to find it. Works great and I have new fuses too:D Thanks for all of your guys' help. You're the best.

    Tascam M-520 No Output

I just replaced the Fuses. Problem persists. I got some test leads, so I'm gonna go check the Voltages. Could the Fuse holders be defective?

    Tascam M-520 No Output

I hope so too. Yeah, I've checked all connections and the signal flow over 10 times. I've checked it very briefly, I'm gonna do a more thorough search.

    Tascam M-520 No Output

Awesome. Sounds good. Unfortunately the black test lead broke off. I need to go buy one. Should be like $2.00 or so. I'm glad that the fuses can still be blown even if they don't look like it. I was getting bummed that it might be something more serious. I listened through Headphones again...

    Tascam M-520 No Output

Yes, there isn't any Output nor response to signals. The Overload(Pre-Fader/EQ) wasn't being driven when I was tapping a Microphone. This is on all channels. I don't have an amplifier, so I can only use Headphones. I opened her up to look for any disconnected cables and didn't find anything...

    Tascam M-520 No Output

So.... My M-520 has been a really great mixer without any issues for almost year since I bought it. But I rearranged my Control Room area and now she isn't responding to signals at all. Oscillator doesn't create any sound. All lights are working. It worked wonderfully last night. What the hell...

    Record LED problem

Thanks for the reply. I'll take a pic of the PCB. Which trim pot are you speaking of? It was the Meter itself that I bumped. Should I try re-soldering the wires that connect to the Meter and/or PCB? It seems strange that I lightly bumped the Meter and the Rec LED came on. They are two different...

    Record LED problem

So, I had my MS-16 Meter Panel disassembled and I knocked the Ch-16 Meter pot a tiny bit, and then the REC LED just kicked on and didn't turn off. I then removed it and reseated the LED and also swapped it with another lamp. The Lamps are fine. It stayed off constantly now. So I reversed it...

Measuring Tascam Ms-16 Output Voltage and Rec/Play Cards

Fixed Channel 13. The Ch-13 Repro connector cable was undone on the Mother Board PCB. Very relieved. Just finished all 16 Amp Card Relays. Not a glitch, except for those other 3 Cards. So, the last problems are: 1) Channel 5 doesn't work in Sync. 2) Channel 6 hardly works at all. 3)...

Measuring Tascam Ms-16 Output Voltage and Rec/Play Cards

IT WORKED!!! The Relays were the problem. Switching from Repro to Sync is perfect and the Levels are always constant. Thank you so much Swetbeats!:D With the main problem gone, there are still a couple other problems to take care of. Such as Channels 5 and 6(I'm going to replace them) And now...

Measuring Tascam Ms-16 Output Voltage and Rec/Play Cards

So... what should I do about Channel 5 and 6? What would cause it to lose power like that? What could some other factors be? Diodes? IC's? Transistor's/FET's? Channel 6 doesn't work in Sync and Repro. It has some Output; about -10db to -15db Channel 5 works in Repro and Record(Monitoring in...

Measuring Tascam Ms-16 Output Voltage and Rec/Play Cards

Hey man, don't worry about it. People always call me Randy. I'm just surprised not too many people know about him. He died in 1982, probably why. I need several miscellaneous parts for my machine. If you decide to sell any parts, hit me up:D Man, there are hardly any people broking down their...

Measuring Tascam Ms-16 Output Voltage and Rec/Play Cards

Hey man... the #5 post says that I've swapped it and it stays with the card. They were are all marked prior to purchase. I have tried Recording through it. It registers the Input signal, but as soon as I monitor in Repro during Recording, it goes back down to -10/-15db. I have boiled the...

Measuring Tascam Ms-16 Output Voltage and Rec/Play Cards

Forgot to say this, My machine has been sitting for a very long time. Don't know about it's use or how long it sat in Georgia, but the previous owner here in LA had it for about 10 years(maybe more) and only did a Tape Transfer and nothing else. And then it sat in a closet until I came and...

Measuring Tascam Ms-16 Output Voltage and Rec/Play Cards

Haha. Thats funny. Well, my machine came from a Gospel Studio in Georgia. I tried finding them, but I didn't know the name of the Studio. Yesterday, I left her on for quite a while and she was working great. I switched from Repro to Sync many times and most of the time all 14 Meters came up. 14...

Measuring Tascam Ms-16 Output Voltage and Rec/Play Cards

That's what I thought. They're usually expensive. I am somewhat prepared for the problem to still be there. But if it doesn't help, at least I have new relays for a very cheap price. It seems logical though, that Repro is fine but not Sync playback. Which is what that Relay is for. The...

Measuring Tascam Ms-16 Output Voltage and Rec/Play Cards

Just bought 25 Relays for $12.99! Great deal. Can't wait to install them. 16-Track Recording here I come:D Finally:eek:

Measuring Tascam Ms-16 Output Voltage and Rec/Play Cards

Awesome! I'm gonna buy some. Glad to hear they work. Yes, the Level is good upon Input mode, but it is very faint if I monitor in Sync during Record or Playback. I haven't checked it's Output Voltage on the Multimeter yet. If you don't remove them, then how do you clean them? Yes, I have...

Measuring Tascam Ms-16 Output Voltage and Rec/Play Cards

Thanks so much.;) You have been so helpful. By the way, if I send a signal to the Input of Channel 6, it is ok. So that works. I think I forgot to mention that every Track is perfect in Repro mode, except Channel 6 of course. Once I get a Solder remover, I'm going to try and clean/re-seat the...
