    Hard Rock Bass Track

Well what a flame war I started here. Not my intended purpose. Let me explain a bit more. I am learning audio production and I post my tracks on youtube in order to see how well they do. I also look for feedback from every track so that the next track I produce will be better. For example...

Just making a typical "djent" song for fun

Agree with the previous comments about the kick, bring that down. I think that will completely change the sound, for the better though.

    Hard Rock Bass Track

Well just because its on youtube doesn't mean its a finished product, in fact its just a backing track at this point, as the video states. I will be adding more guitars before I release the finished product. I'm looking for feedback on the sound quality and the mix. Is the bass a good level...

    Metal Track

Alright I brought up the drum level, re recorded the bass and used an amp sim on the bass to give it a more distinct and recognizable sound. I think it sounds better so far https://soundcloud.com/ben-2014/azog-demo-2

    Metal Track

Thanks for all the feedback, it seems the bass is the main thing I need to work on, and then work on the drums a little bit. When it comes to drums most of you guys are saying they needed to be louder, but is that the only thing or are there other tweaks that need to be made to help them cut...

    Metal Track

There was a bass but my bass is so cheap that I had to cover it up to make it sound ok, I think I should invest in a moderately good bass. And far as the drums, if your not into metal I wouldn't expect you to enjoy the drum sound.

    Metal Track

Well it wasn't an amp sim, I miced up a cab.

Garage Rock Song work in progress

Ok, I'll try that, does the reverb tend to make the instrument sound like its behind everything else?

Garage Rock Song work in progress

Hey all, I recently recorded a garage rock style song, so far I have the whole backing track done. I'm just going to add lead guitar in next but first I wanted some feedback on the quality of the backing track. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVmxdGccomE&feature=youtu.be Thanks

Mixing Drums with EZ Drummer/ other drum sampling programs

There is a way in Cubase to split the feed of EZ drummer into 8 different outputs for each drum mic, would you recommend doing this and then applying effects on an individual basis, or do you apply the effects to the whole kit?

Mixing Acoustic and Dirty Electric rhythm Guitar

Does anyone have any advice on mixing an acoustic guitar with a distorted electric guitar for a rhythm part. I normally record the acoustic guitar twice by micing the amp I'm plugged into, and pan one track all the way left and the other track all the way right. I Then do the same thing for...

    Guitar Rock/Metal/Ballads

SC, I appreciate the honest feedback and thanks for taking the time to listen to every track! The earlier drum tracks were made with a free software that came with Cubase so I agree those drums are terrible. Now that I have EZ Drummer (drums used on amaon amarth, punk in F#, d minor 6/8, and...

    Guitar Rock/Metal/Ballads

Hello all, I'm new to the recording process and I've been really enjoying it, I wanted to get some initial feedback on the songs I have made so far. I've been using Cubase Elements 7 and recording my guitar amp with a Shure SM57. I use EZ Drummer 2 for the drum tracks. Heres a playlist of my...
