For the guitar cab definitely look into a Shure SM57 ($100). Or maybe even 2 of them.
For vocals: MXL offers some good mics for a low price; I like the MXL 990 ($80) on vocals, but there are several others.
For the acoustic guitar, a pair of AKG C1000s ($150 each) might work for you. I like...
Haha, it's funny because everyone does laugh at me for using GarageBand, but I don't care. The thing that matters most is creativity. And then, of course, your mics and preamps etc. I prefer GarageBand over other DAWs because it does exactly what I need it do do. I don't need all of the fancy...
GarageBand does exactly what I need it to do - record music. I can add some simple reverb, EQ, whatever. That's all I need to do. I've used higher end DAWs at other studios (mostly Logic, which is pretty awesome) but I use GarageBand at home. It's simple and easy to use and I don't have to spend...
The PreSonus Audiobox 1818VSL is highly recommended. I love it. It has 8 mic inputs, instrument inputs, and had MIDI I/O. Even if you only need 2 mic inputs for now, this will serve you for a while if you even need more mics.
Yeah we will definitely need more practice! This was pretty much a first attempt at the song, me only having heard it once or twice. I'll definitely work out the arrangement more on the guitar, maybe even trying something similar to Blackbird. That would be interesting. . . Thanks again...
These days music videos just aren't the same as they used to be. It seems like half of the videos don't even have anything to do with the song, or they're just plain stupid. That's just my opinion. There are a few good ones out there though.
Next time you record the drums, maybe try a different mic, another mic placement, etc. I don't know how many microphones you have but if you experiment with that you might be able to find one that sounds better on the snare. But either way this whole album is great. Keep playing!
Is the keyboard plugged in through USB directly to the computer? I had the same problem with my Casio keyboard and so I tried another USB cable and it got rid of the sound. I don't know if that'll work for you, but it worked for me. Hopefully you can find the cause of it.
