    What's your motivation for recording?

Most people won't admit it, but I have no problem. I'm only in it for the money.

New to Recording - Old Dylan Tune

DISCLAIMER: I'm only listening with headphones.. Anyway - really natural sounding capture to me. Vocals and guitar sound good. Harmony vocal is a little high. Doesn't seem to suffer from a lot of the newb issues... Huge Dylan fan here, and I think you did the tune justice.

    Bandcamp/downloading?

If it's an iPhone the only way in is via a synced library, or iTunes on phone purchases, but if he owned an iPhone he would know that so I guess not. Other phones let you download to the local filesystem on the phone and add to a library. Most people I know manage their files on a computer then...

Please to listen to my new track and feedback - 'Facsimiles'

For the most part I share the same attitude towards mixing, over the last couple years I've pretty much broken the bad habit of poking at mixes for ages. I've been stuggling because I don't have my room anymore, I'm working in the dining room and mixing primarily with headphones. Agree about...

Please to listen to my new track and feedback - 'Facsimiles'

Thanks for checking it out again! - what did you think of bass on mix 2? I think I might still have room to move it up more. As far as length - I have the attention span of a 6 year old so it is really hard for me to get a song that is longer than 2 minutes, 3 minutes is an *epic* for me :-)...

    Been a while! Here's a Beatles cover.

Nice job! As others said, the harmonies were awesome. I loved the snare... Thanks for sharing.

Please to listen to my new track and feedback - 'Facsimiles'

I noticed the same thing myself in a car listen this morning on way to work. I think maybe the small changes in the kick and bass are causing the buss compressor to kick in differently. I sure didn't expect or anticipate it, but it happened. Also dropping the level on that stupid hat made a...

Please to listen to my new track and feedback - 'Facsimiles'

I was going to ask you what ghetto commenting is, then I re-read :-) Thanks for checking it out, and for checking it out again with mix 2. I did a car listen of mix 2 on the way to work. I don't know how exactly those tiny changes added up - but for me the difference is pretty dramatic. The hat...

Apparently I'm not, because now that stupid freaking synth horn lick won't get out of my head. THANKS!

Please to listen to my new track and feedback - 'Facsimiles'

I know it wasn't a knock on kcearl - I love his stuff. I beefed up the bass and kick in mix 2.

Wait - does Europe's Final Countdown really happen to you? Cause that would be insane. Also - the blank white room Satan Casio idea is inspired. I think I might run with it..

You want to know what hell is? Try waking up every single day for almost a decade with ZZ Top's 'She's Got Legs' playing in your head..... But yeah - when that happens to me (the trying to sleep song driving me crazy) it is usually a tiny fragment of a melody going OVER AND OVER and especially...

Is there any song subject matter that you find hard to listen to ?

PS - THE CANON featured prominently in a GE light bulb commercial that ran about 1000 times a day through the 80s and into the 90s. That's probably why the majority of American's are familiar with it - well that and some sappy movie that was all the rage that I can't remember, but I think it...

Is there any song subject matter that you find hard to listen to ?

That is so funny you say that, because the kids all point out songs that are 'ripping each other off', but they are all based on Da Canon :-)

Please to listen to my new track and feedback - 'Facsimiles'

Hey all - Thanks! - Added Mix 2 up top. Bass +1 and lowered HPF, Hat -4, Kick +2 Hey Heat - Thanks! It's super frustrating not really being able to mix out loud very often, and I miss the hell out of my piano - but other than that I enjoy getting back to my teenage musical roots :-) Jimmy -...

Yeah, I guess I figured. I am of the whatever happens school of thought on it. I usually get the jamming part done, then ride around in the car for a couple weeks thinking up lyrics, then record the vocals :-) Chuck

I don't get you lol :-) You write songs, your record them, you seem to enjoy the process, so how can you not be - into it. Maybe you mean you are not like those guys in the songwriting forum trying to 'hone their craft', which I am down with 100% - I'm not into that part either. I am of the...
