Will my VST plugins from Cubase work with Protools LE?

VST does not work natively with Pro Tools LE. RTAS and Audio Suite are the only ones that do. If you want to use VST plugs you need to purchase the VST/RTAS wrapper from FXPansion

    2 Questions

    1. Yes that will work...and you want a control surface, not a mixer. A mixer is something different. 2. You need a USB hub. For example: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817394053

Plug Ins Not Showing Up On PT!

most should. Of the ones I've tried only a handful seem to have problems (I have most of the ones he listed). Of the ones that don't work they still show up but some have GUI problems or just crash on opening. Still, for the cost of the wrapper, it's worth it just to have even 10 of those...

Plug Ins Not Showing Up On PT!

the VST ones will only work if you purchase the VST/RTAS wrapper from FxPansion. And you don't necessarily need to install them into the Digidesign plugins folder the .dpm files you have there are mostly all the plugins you already have installed that came with Pro Tools (or were RTAS ones you...

    Pro Tools MP3

I use Switch all the time....love it Pro Tools doesn't include the encoder is because of licensing reasons. They use the Fraunhofer codec...they could include it with the software, but then you'd probably see the price of PT bump up 20 bucks.

    ProTools or Logic Pro?

Many of us consider you're paying the money for the hardware unit. Since really, $1000 is pretty much the median price you'll pay for 18 channels of I/O. So really, you're getting the software for free actually the 001 was dropped well before 7.0 Still...the M-Audio 1010LT doesn't have...

Is there a point in buying pro tool LE 7.4 if..

you'll have to have as many outputs on the Digi interface as you have tracks. and then have as many channel inputs on the mixer as you have tracks. Then you'll need to have something to go back to when you want to bounce the final mix. Why do you want to mix the tracks on the Peavey?

    Question about Mbox 2 Micro

most any MIDI device can be used with Pro Tools it's the audio interfaces/sound cards that need to be Digi/M-Audio built in order to use it with Pro Tools. I have several devices that are hooked up to Pro Tools that aren't Digidesign hardware. They are all MIDI devices though.

    Individual Headphone Mixes

use sends on the tracks you can create Aux tracks for the master cue faders...then bus sends to the individual aux tracks to create separate mixes. Then set the outputs of the aux tracks to a stereo pair on the 003. For example...if your tracks from top to bottom are: Kick Snare OH Guitar Bass...

High School music department needs recording equipment.

well, figure out what you want to do with all of it. Do you want to record multiple microphones to their individual tracks for mixing/editing later? If so, how many microphones? You'll also need a computer and speakers. And where are you going to place all of this? You'll need a snake to run all...

    HD hardware questions(basic)...

or you can get the 96i I/O...that's 16 analog channels input and 2 analog outs (and S/PDIF too) but to answer your question, yes...to get started all you need is a Core card and one of the interfaces. Other core cards and other interfaces can be added later

    Beat Detective

yes, should be in your edit menu (although they might have moved it in recent PT versions....just look around the menus) You select a 4,8,12 bar phrase or whatever (has to be EXACT...put PT in loop mode and see if the loop feels natural), and then run identify beat. When you put in the measure...
