    bouncing question?????

you need a program like CD Architect to place track markers in the middle of the songs. Then you just bounce the entire show as one file, import it and add the track markers where you need it.

Pro Tools, Wavs, and Audio CDs,...

yes...get CDex or iTunes then it's either a problem with the CD, CD drive, or the audio program you're using. I rip files all the time...duplicating a CD is very common. the files on a CD aren't in WAV format. They are in Red Book audio format. Both formats, however, are encoded in PCM...

Pro Tools, Wavs, and Audio CDs,...

When you create a session in Pro Tools you designate the following things: file format sample rate bit depth and session name Pro Tools then creates a folder on your hard drive and places: 1) a file with the session name 2) an audio files folder that will store all the audio you work with 3) a...

Pro Tools, Wavs, and Audio CDs,...

typical WAV files are uncompressed. Meaning they will not lose information when encoded correctly. Pro Tools is not an audio file format. The PT file you open up is just a data file that references stored audio information in your audio files folder. Most of the time that stored audio is in...

    How to fade-out EQ ?

all depends on what you're trying to get it to sound like. Both your way and Farview's will give slightly different sounding results. I'm not sure exactly what you're after, but you could also automate the EQ gain/frequency settings to gradually return to zero.

    protools mbox, only 2 inputs?

when you are talking about I/O count people usually assume you mean simultaneous I/O. When you said "He can still use for instance, an A/D converter with lets say, 16 I/O's and presumably extend his I/O count to 17 with the original Mbox," we all assumed you were meaning simultaneous I/O...

    protools mbox, only 2 inputs?

no you can't have 16 I/O with the Mbox. First off, S/PDIF is limited by it's own design to a max of a four channel protocol (although the most you more commonly see is only two channel devices). Second, again, the USB 1.1 protocol also limits the amount of simultaneous I/O you can have with an...

    protools mbox, only 2 inputs?

it's both Pro Tools LE only allows one interface at a time (and their own brand of interfaces only)...while the Mbox 2 is a USB 1.1 device which simply can't handle the bandwidth of 16 I/O

MBox 2 Pro and other Firewire interfaces.....

maybe we need a sticky in this section about how PTLE won't allow multiple connection of other interfaces, lol Mbox 2 pro...multiple simultaneous inputs, 6

    AD/DA Converter

if you're just interested in upgrading the converters and don't need a new I/O option...take a look at the mods from Black Lion: http://www.blacklionaudio.com/digi002_mod.html

    AD/DA Converter

smart ass ;) thanks for the correction...I actually was not aware they had that. I haven't visited their site in awhile

    AD/DA Converter

A/D=Analog to Digital D/A=Digital to Analog so an A/D converter would be an Analog to Digital converter. Basically your 003 is an A/D converter since it's taking your mic signal and converts it into digital for your computer. It's ALSO a D/A converter because it converts the signal in Pro...

Sample Conversion Rates (Downsampling in pro tools)

not to mention if we really want to think that it's "hard" for a computer to do something like SRC....? With today's processing power? That might have been true in the early 90's, but I don't think that's true anymore. But, that's not saying the QUALITY of D/A converters is going to be better...

Sample Conversion Rates (Downsampling in pro tools)

I think you are confusing these terms: sample rate bit depth bit rate ...and what dither does. Dither only has to do with reducing a higher bit depth to a lower bit depth. For example, when going 24 bit to 16 bit resolution (or as recommended by Digi, even when going from 16 bit to 16 bit)...

    Finding it hard to learn!!!

http://www.editorskeys.com/ or Digi sells a keyboard you can buy, but it's pretty pricey. Just keep working with it, you'll learn them as you go.
