Try using a tape saturator plug-in like PSP vintage warmer, and also get some ribbon mics. Ribbon mics give a nice analogue sound. G

Nope. That's why you use very little amounts. That being said the toms should be tuned and reskinned rather than using dampening. G

And another simple fix, pull down the volume of the OH that has the snare in it more than the other. G

You could bus the OHs to a stereo aux, pan the L and R OHs to get the snare a bit more centred, then add a stereo imager plug-in and move to get the snare even more centred. If this does not fix the problem enough then using less OHs and more close snare mic can help, and also panning the close...

Cotton balls (or something similar) taped on to the tom skins can really help get rid of too much sustain. G

I tend to use this technique also actually. :) It works great if you have great tom recordings. G

Seems odd the way it works for exporting. I would have thought a simple drag and drop feature when plugged in to your computer. G

I expected there would be a stereo Master track, no biggy, bounce to 1 left and 1 right channel then. :) G

I believe the best way is to manually edit out the noise and fade out the tom hits to taste. fade out the toms while listening to the mix as a whole rather than solod. G

Q is the steepness of the curve. So a high Q is a steep curve (thin bandwidth) and a low Q is a mellow curve (wide bandwidth). G

I like these drums, reminds me of the drum sound on the Pixies song "Where is your mind". Nice sounding snare and loads of OHs in the Mix. I would use a little less of the OHs and more of the close mics to get a more close up sound so they don't sound so distant. But you are on the right track...

It is actually quite simple. You need a great sounding room, a great sounding drum kit, great mics, great pres, a great dynamically and timing consistent drummer and also good mic placement. Mic placement is the least of your worries, get the others right first then try out different mic...

I would say you will need to bounce your Mix to a stereo WAV before you can transfer it as at the moment it is the separate tracks and te effects settings data, panning data, fader data etc. G

Things have changed since 1999, but not that much! If the cymbals sound good and natural in the room then it will probably be a mic placement issue or mic issue. G

Yeah I like this one also. It's not as serious as Duesenberg's one. The spelling is wrong though,its Crystal Mixing & Mastering. Maybe without the Its' delicious bit and if it was in a more crystal colour base would be awesome. Thanks you! G
