Yes I would try compressing with a faster attack maybe 4ms (ish) and a higher ratio to tame that attack. I really like the snare sound but as people have mentioned a bit softer sounding snare would suit this style better. G

Thanks all I'll look into this. I had the art tube pre-amp which was like £30, not exactly great but worked as a DI box as well so not bad lol. I think I am looking for a compressor that colours the input rather than transparent. Cheers, G
