So yeah since i never have had my USB cable for my alesis multimix mixer i have never been able to see whether or not i still get seperation of the inputs after connecting it to my PC via the USB out...does anyone know if i will get track seperation with this USB connection?

I see well thank you for all the help...i think i will just at first stick to the 3 to 1 rule then move my mics checking to see if my movements bring them out of phase or not...again thank you

Ok now i sort of understand the concept of it...but how do i avoid it...and how can i know if my mics are in phase?

All i know is that they happen when using two microphones withing close proximity of each other...other than that this concept has eluded me....please explain?

Slow down there big guy...don't go headfirst into purchasing equipment until you really know what you want and what will suit the job you need done the best...if you are recording rock groups this is what you might want to do....I would stick with the computer you already have if i were...

at this price i would be extremely cautious...some of crates amp sound rather nice i.e the blue voodoo...but it's lower end amplifiers tend to be horrible...try it out...but dont set your hopes on it being an amazing deal

From what i understand it is best to not only find the volume where the amp sounds best but also where the amps speaker gets really involved with projecting the sound...if the cone is showing significant movement...this should be a good place to record from...as the speaker is pushing lots of...

My advice is to pick up some sort of instrument mic...idealy the sm57 if not the pg57 isnt terrible....then get a small 2 xlr in mixer with preamps that also has usb connectivity...the interface built into this mixer will provide you with much better quality than your sound card will and a usb...

How do i set up Acid 6.0 to record in mono?...it seems to be automatically set to stereo

Im using sony acid 6.0...how do i know if my tracks are being recorded in mono or in stereo? and whats the difference between the two...when is one better than the other?...sorry about the novice question...feel free to laugh at me as long as you provide me with a serious answer
