Sonar vs. Nuendo vs. Cubase and others

Did you have to ruin this. We could have shown the americans how to really fight with your neigbours. I mean, sometimes the US-Canada disputes here feels more like hugs then punches... ;) But come to think of it. I'm half Danish, so I would have to hit myself...

Sonar vs. Nuendo vs. Cubase and others

You got the dog sled part right, but it's Russian... http://kjellin.homestead.com/bil.html http://www.ramsten.e.se/ Norwegians don't manufacture anything. They've got oil. ;) ps. On one of the pages it says "It's registrered as a model '84, in practice it's all 60's." and on the same page...

Sonar 4 - To upgrade or not to upgrade. That is the question.

The freeze function seems very well implemented too, according to some thread over at the Cakewalk forum where the cw-staff participated...

Sonar 4 - To upgrade or not to upgrade. That is the question.

My view pretty much. Probably will get the Studio.

what makes a guitar most suitable for studio use?

Since I got my Line 6 Variax I rarely use the other guitars. Allmost any sounds I need (not nylon), no hum or noise. It's kind of sad. It's my Blade that gets an occasional exercise just because it feels so perfect....

    Mics in the studio...help...

Shouldn't he be able to get workable vocals with either the Audix CX-111 or Octava MK-219? And of course he always has the Shure's... ;)

    Cubase Sx vs Sonar 3

Nope... ;) Nope... ;) I would say today (after Sonar 3) it's so close a draw that it's really down to personal preferences. There isn't any major flaws or omissions in either app. And I think it will be a close race in the future also... There's "kind of" a comparision in this article...

BEHRINGER XM 1800S - any thoughts?

I'd say the XM8500 is pretty close to the SM58, but I actually find my XM2000 better on most voices, and even good on a few - even if it's not supposed to be a pure vocal microphone or a SM58-clone. Probably there's enough variations in the production for these mics to get all sorts of weird...

    Looking for Good VST Instruments

Btw, an alternative that's extremely cheap is some kind of soundfont-player (there's some free ones) and some sites like www.hammersound.net.

    Looking for Good VST Instruments

Also check out the "group buy" they made on a Sonic synth 1 bundle, there's still a few days to join in on the deal, even if it's to late to make a better deal. If you want "a good all around VST instrument " the reviews seems to agree this is one of the best - if not the best. I have no...

Your opions please on a guitar stand for seven

I've got five electrics. The two I use most (Blade & Variax) I have on non locked single stands so they're ready to use (likewise with the bass). The other three is on a stand that looks like this: http://www.zzounds.com/a--2676837/item--MUP7352B My acoustics are up on the wall... Pretty...

    Pro Audio 9 vs Sonar

dachay2tnr has pretty much summed things up. But as I went from PA9 to Sonar 3.0 Studio I'd just like to add a few things. For me it was worth every penny. Even with european prices. It was a VERY smooth transition. I was recording the same night I got the software - but I still learn new...

    Survey: Live Instruments vs. Synthesizers

Interesting thread I found looking for an answer to that question... http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=18;t=010456 don't miss: http://www.midisolutions.com/prodbth.htm Anyone can blow! :D But I'm pretty happy with my DH-100 http://www.ncci.net/virgil/midiwinds.htm

    Survey: Live Instruments vs. Synthesizers

Yes, on all guitars and sometimes bass I do play real instrument. Sometimes I I use my Variax though - does that count as guitar? :) I agree that samples sound more like real instruments as that is what they are. And I don't think that [Rock Star 87] excluded them. But at the same time there's...

how do you write great, professional, commercial, catchy melodies?

True, I started writing something with this intent as an answer to what ecktronic said (and his view is not that uncommon), but I couldn't get it right so I gave up.

    Survey: Live Instruments vs. Synthesizers

I can't help but reading your question like "is an AVERAGE keyboardist with a sax-patch a better sax-player than a GREAT sax-player with a sax?"... It's kind of leading... But the answer has to be "it depends"... To me as a homereccer the synth wins 3 & 4. But I might do it with my trusty...
