    How does this setup sound?

Unless you plan to play games on this box, you video should be fine for a start. Like moskus said you need to think about a larger hard drive. I would use the large one for recording. 40 gigs for OS may be too much, but it is not too much for OS and programs. These days more and more programs...

    what do i need?

And one more thing. T-racks are mastering plugins. If you don't like their sound, there are others to choose from: Steinberg mastering edition, Izotope Ozone, Waves mastering bundle. They meant to be applied to the whole mix. If you need to tweak the sound of some instrument, you need to apply...

    what do i need?

I can't address all of your questions, but here is some info. Nuendo is a very good multitrack recording package. It allows you to record as many tracks as computer can handle and apply plugins to each track individually. Mixdown is a built in feature, so you don't need any special plugins for...

    How to choose CD Burner.?

I have two yamaha burners and have no complaints at all. I am keeping them for reliability and ablity to burn at all speeds starting from 1x and 2x - the slowest burn speed of most current cheap burners is 4x, or more likely 8x. Yamaha also have their propritary "audio master" mode, which is...

I'm really sorry!! What am I doing wrong?

From Nvidia website: There are dozens of reasons that can cause a system to lock up, especially under intense graphical situations. First of all, verify that your system supports the minimum requirements provided by your graphics card manufacturer. Primarily, make sure if your graphics card is...

    CD-R color

drstawl, To be exact, "Vinyl" cdrs were not short of high frequences, but those highs sounded more harsh. The disk was recorded in "Audio Master" mode with longer than usual pits and lands, therefore if this was caused by jitter, then the disks were even worse then I initially thought.

    CD-R color

alfalfa, No problem. Actually I think that drstawl was simply teasing me for bad spelling. He knows that I make typos. ;) c9- 2001, I don't stick to any particular brand. I usually get the ones that are on sale with rebates every week. Memorex and Hi-val worked ok. Lately I was pretty...

    CD-R color

No, thats not about measurements. I am asking about user's personal perception of whether color of the disk has effect on its sonic quality, and if yes, how would they be rated?.

I'm really sorry!! What am I doing wrong?

440bx is an older board. AGP standard has gone through some development stages, and earlier AGP cards were designed to work at different voltage than modern cards. I would suggest to check compatibility between your current card and AGP implementation on your board. Just a thought.

    CD-R color

Re: Re: CD-R color Sorry doc, I can't. Besides what I felt was "dissappointment", which I think is a stronger feeling, then some little "disappointment". ;)

    CD-R color

I wonder, how does CD-R color effect its quality of sound? Lately I purchased Verbatim "Vinyl cd-r". Reflective side of the disk was blue, and label side looked exactly as small vinyl record of 45 rpm size. They just looked so damn nice that I couldn't help buying a pack. So I burned one and...

Delta drivers must have been made by ammatures!

Actually m-audio recommends using their own uninstaller. Ambi, you can download it if it is not on the disk.

    Killer HD!!

I don't know if the dust can reach motor moving parts of HD, but disk plates are sealed in vacuum. Maybe you can reduce the noise by putting some kind of soft rubber spacers between HD and mounting rack.

Who uses external mixers and why or why not?

Thats the thing - I don't have real drums, its all synthesized. Each instrument can be set independently in terms of velocity, panning etc., but if later I decide that, say, kick is too loud, I need to re-record the whole part. Not really a big deal, but still a hastle. I hear Drumagog can fix...

Who uses external mixers and why or why not?

I didn't say I record four instruments in stereo. I said that my setup allows to do that. For one thing I have only three synths. Some patches have nice stereo effects, and I do record those in stereo. Drums parts I almost always record in stereo because each drum and crash can be...

Who uses external mixers and why or why not?

In your current setup you will have to record all parts one by one. For example, you record drums part on one track, and after that you record guitar part on another tracks while listening to the recorded drums part. If you are thinking of recording drums and guitar simultaneously each on its...

What is the best cheap electric guitar?

What about brands like Washburn, ESP, OLP? I find a lot of those in $200 range.

What is the best cheap electric guitar?

What would be the most comfortably playable cheap electric guitar? I need one for practicing and home studio work. Also, cheap guitars appear to be manufactured in China, Indenesia, Korea etc. What country of origin is more preferable?

How to restore a floppy disk?

I certainly would. Unfortunately I can not dump floppies all together because thats what my Roland uses. I also think that BadCopy Pro is a "must have" tool.
