12 inch vinyl single versus digital transfer

I don't know what you're smoking fool but compression caused by streaming is a fact of life anywhere on the net so that argument falls flat. As far as the streaming quality of soundclick goes, it has a LOFI and HIFI playback option, try it HIFI sometime!! You didn't playback the lofi in error...

12 inch vinyl single versus digital transfer

I have been using the nic Lukesteele since 1998. Well before Luke Steele of Empire of the Sun was even known. Tell him what you like and say hi ok? :)

12 inch vinyl single versus digital transfer

Hi Ray, I can't hear a single pop, click or problem on soundclick and neither can my band. As far as whining about lo-res steaming being a problem, all I can say is your pc system or your ears may need help sorry mate!

12 inch vinyl single versus digital transfer

You made assumptions about what gear I was using!! If that ain't the dumbest thing to say about a mix, I don't know what is. You could have ASKED me instead of behaving like some 2yo. Now as for the lo res streaming making it all too hard for you all to hear, what utter BS!! Even at that res, I...

12 inch vinyl single versus digital transfer

"the biggest thing is that his converters are OLD! Late 70's A/D and D/A converters don't stand up to todays at all." It's comments like that one you made that make me feel YOU are the combative prick dude. And to say "2.1 systems are usually junk" then ask which system I use is combative talk...

12 inch vinyl single versus digital transfer

So now you know what I meant by "crapped all over"... Digitally clear but lacking warmth, but NOT inferior by digital recording standards at all. I hope that clears things up :)

12 inch vinyl single versus digital transfer

Before you get all antsy about my pc system LOL.. I use sennheiser pro quality headphones for monitoring as well. Enjoy our album out on ITunes now!!! :)

12 inch vinyl single versus digital transfer

Woahh a minute!! What do you mean by " as bad as you say"? That's a ridiculous comment to make as I said the digital copy wasn't as good as the vinyl original sound and anyone with half a brain knows a duplicate can only get close to the original in sound quality unless you're recording...

12 inch vinyl single versus digital transfer

I'm not comparing master tape to vinyl! This is a vinyl to "digital copy of it" comparison and as I said before the audible difference in depth and warmth was obvious to all. I rest my case. :)

12 inch vinyl single versus digital transfer

Tell you what Bob.. How about I direct you to the album link and you can hear what my "junk p.c system" did for me LOL..INCREDIBLE to assume what I have is junk dude! The end result is what matters, ie. the album. SoundClick artist: Drops Of Light - Current Members :Lu Ruello...

Well thanks for agreeing with me there! I don't think that's pointless do you ? LOL

12 inch vinyl single versus digital transfer

Not confusing at all! Instead of having separate speakers for the turntable, both turntable and pc sound are routed through the Lexicon preamp/mixer and therefore to the pc sound system allowing A/B comparisons. Have a listen to the album, see what you think? :) Can you spot the tape transfers...

12 inch vinyl single versus digital transfer

I used a stereo amp with tape outs to my Lexicon 8 channel mixer that outputs to my 2.1 pc system. The same system I used to playback the digital recording from my pc! A/B switching and voila!

12 inch vinyl single versus digital transfer

I guess you just had to be here to hear it then folks!! No matter what differences the vinyl had compared to the tape master, it still crapped all over the digital recording, and I still think the digital recording I made is just fine!! Check it out..:) SoundClick artist: Drops Of Light -...
