Para One & The South African Youth Choir - Elevation (KieranCampbell Remix)

Yes, groove is stone hard. And why not try to add some more interesting elements and make some more transitions and cut some bars? Listen to top house songs, u'll notice how few bars there really are until something new happens.

The Needle and the Damage Done

I love Neil Young and also that the drums are panned, just like to good old days with music, and where Neil Young is no exception. A nice cover but as someone mentioned, the vox could maybe be cut somewhere in 2-3000 hz or just turned down in volume or why not some chorus effect.

    Any Flavor You Like....Take 2.

Weell, to jump into the clear-punchy-mix crown, I also have to say that the mix is ass kicking. Is that your own song and vox?

Ready Your Jet Ski - Synthpop/wave

I found this song thanks to Robus and I really like it. If the sun was shining and people were partying with a stereo in their hand, this would be the song. It would be kick ass with more vocals! Overall, the mix sounded really clear to me. The kick could be more prominent at times, though.

    indietronica/hiphop song if you may

Thank you for the feedback all and for the links, Robus. I do agree about the verse, just a bit limited to vocal recording though. But we recorded more takes, we'll have to check them out. Great that u heard the guitar, my ears aren't that sensitive, thanks! Will try to tweak some more...

Sing It Like You Mean It

Thanks! By building you mean it should create more tension between parts? Also, do you have any tip regarding the part that lacks energy? Do you think it's a question of mixing/production or songwriting problem?

    Guitar lead mixing/panning

Thanks for the feedback! I also pan rhythm guitars hard left and right. But when it comes to melodic "leads/riffs" like the one played in the sample I linked in the first post, I'd like to know if they also can be panned hard right/left? Feels like people say that "Riffs/leads" with a melody...

    Guitar lead mixing/panning

I'm wondering how to go about mixing/ panning a lead guitar riff that plays along constantly with vocals etc. For example Robin Schulz remix, Prayer in C. How have he panned the guitar there? It seems a bit like the guitar is panned a bit to the left from center and som reverb to the right...

    new song, new ears

Hello again! So, I have made a new mix as I said I would a couple of weeks ago. I have changed it quite a bit though. The beat and the overall feel is a bit different. I also replaced the guitars, bassguitar and the kick with new stuff instead, this time it's 100% electronic. Feedback would be...

    new song, new ears

Thanks for the feedback guys! You are right about the bass and the guitar. Think I will change them and put in some eletronical instruments instead and treat it as you say, a "pop" song. I'll post a new version later on.

    new song, new ears

I agree regarding the kick, I will try to change that. The vocals are really tricky. I understand that the track is a bit overproduced, which is due my blindness and the process of learning to mix. What do you mean by "You may want to push it towards a style of music or pull out all the stops...

New Wave/Dream style song, looking for advice on mixing and mastering!

Like the song and the beat a lot. I agree that the vocals should be more up front and lower the volume of the "dark" voice.

    new song, new ears

Hello! Here is a new song I have been working on. It is an electronical (pop-ish) song with vocals and a bass and rhythm guitar going through the song. A less "tranquil" song I posted some weeks ago. I would appreciate any opinions regarding the mix. Thanks...

    Now for smething completely different

And some Primus thing going on too. The drum fill at 1:36 sounds a bit rushed or "laggy". Otherwise, the drums could cut through a bit more. Otherwise good.

If you listen to this I'll buy you a BEER *

Great track. Vocals reminds me a bit of Thom Yorke and Jeff Buckley, not that surprising though since you obviously like them. Mix is also good.

    My very first mix.

Yes, I think it's quite good balanced. Although, it sounds like much of the music is centered.
