The AW16G sure looks nice. I just hope it can handle recording a band with good results. I need the unit to be somewhat portable, so having a burner built-in is essential.
Does anyone have any opinions on the Tascam 2488? I may be able to get one of those. Though the reviews say it has a habbit...
I tryed the MBox - laptop couldn't handle it. Tryed the Leixcon Omega - laptop couldn't handle it. So instead of spending money on maxing out my laptop, or purchasing another computer, I'm going to have to go with a multi-track recorder.
My budget for now is around $500, I could probably push...
My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite Pro. 1.4GHz, 40 Gig Hardrive, 256 RAM. (I don't much else.)
There are two meters. The CPU Usage Meter and the Hard Disk Transfer Meter. The CPU Usage Meter stays low. The Hard Disk Transfer Meter is the one that raises, redlines, and stops playback.
Could I get...
I just recorded 2 tracks of me playing drums. It seems to have recorded them fine, but when I go to play them back, it begins playing the tracks, and then the VST Performance Meter starts going up quickly, then it redlines and stops playing.
There appears to be two meters, the first one always...
What are groups? Is this like bussing? (New to mixers  )
I would need to be able to send 4 seperate channels out to my Lexicon Omega at the same time, for recording - this is bussing right? So I could group all my drums mics and send them out one, and my guitar out one, and bass...
With the M12, can you group just the drum mics and send them out as one line seperate from others. Because I'd be using it with my Lexicon Omega, and I'd want to do multitracking. Is that possible with the M12?
I'm looking for a mixer to use live and in my home studio. Would you go with a Soundcraft M12 or Mackie CFX-16? Or something else($750 budget)? Why? Thanks for any opinions!
My MIDI wind controller runs to my lexicon omega, which runs to a MIDI track in Cubase, which runs to Reason. When I play, it runs into Reason, and then back to Cubase, and I hear audio. I need to find out how to create and audio track, that will pickup up the audio, and allow me to record it.
I'm looking for an effects box (mainly reverb) where I can run my drums, vocals, guitar, sax, etc. into at the same time - for playing live and recording.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a nice effects box, or just a reverb box. I'll probably need to be able to control 3 or 4 channels...
I bought my Pearl EX Kit about a year ago and I'm going to be replacing the heads. I need heads that I can use for rock, jazz, funk, you name it. I was thinkinf of going with coated heads on all toms and snare.
I have heard good things about Evans.
What would you go with?
Thanks!
I use my bedroom for recording. I need some way to isolate the drums. I've looked at those drum sheilds, but would they work well enough? Any opinions/suggestions? Thanks!
