    Need advice on room

Thanks for the replies everyone. I guess I should have been more clear. I am only willing/able to rip out the walls in the main room and the closet. the bathroom is off limits. And by walls, I mean drywall. I am not allowed to change the room layout in any significant way, not would I be allowed...

    Midi controller

Yes, I like my Axiom 60, but damn it to hell, I cannot stand their customer service. One of the issues I have with the Axiom is those silly little fader buttons keep falling of when I gig with it. Just TRY to get a replacement set. I dare you. I had to open up my one and only support ticket...

Hey guys, than ks for the feedback. I happen to have a 4 Auralex bass traps, 2 boxes of Auralex pyramid foam, and 14 2" rigid fiberglass panels. Looking to record horns and vocals. Not sure there's enough room to do any bands :) I'm also thinking of converting the walk-in closet to a...

    Need advice on room

Hi all. I have recently moved, and the property has a mother-in-law's unit that I wish to convert into my studio. It's not, and unfortunately under an HOA, so any external modification to the structure is out of the question. Here is a pdf of the dimensions...

how do you make a fabric wall?

And behind those 'panels' is the insulation? The idea is not to have reflective surface for walls? Would you do this for all walls in a room? Or just two? One? What criteria for determining which?

    Keyboard for the studio

Sound pallets are going to change. How much they change/improve is open for debate, but my approach has generally been to find controllers to give me the feel I want, and use them to trigger the sound I want from modules/software. That said, the one keyboard I won't give up is my Kurzweil PC3.

Could someone tell me these notes?

Sounds to me like am - FM7 - Gsus - Em7 The right hand is playing a G/A - > am figure (to my ear at least, I listened to it once as it's really sorta painful to listen to).

can someone explain "cadence" to me?

What you are referring to where things like false cadence (V-vi), plagal cadence !V-I) , etc, that represent the end point of what the first poster referred to a the cadence of a piece of music. They have the same name but the're related. The cadence of a musical piece is harmonically outlined...

If There's A Program That I Download Off Torrent Site And It Has A Serial Number....

It's theft, regardless of whether there's an actual law, it's theft. Please don't insult our intelligence with this inane excuses for arguments that I would expect from a 14 year old. It's theft. You are taking something that is offered up for sale, that is the fruit of someone else's labour...

    MIDI cord delay

According to Monster Cable, the speed of light is a show stopper  I've been working with MIDI for 20 years and I've never has to deal with MIDI latency introduced by healthy cabling.

Sound Difference between DAW and MP3

Why woould you want to render to MP3 anyways? Render to a wav file, then convert a copy to MP3. Once you've lost that information, it's gone, and this way, a quick A/B can tell you if the lossage was in the rendering or in the conversion to an MP3.

mods don't let drummers post vulgar drunken titles :p

I found it refreshing, actually, with a lot of posters you can't tell if they're inebriated or just plain retarded. Here we have an indication :D

    Question: ProteusVX N-track Delta 1010

One answer is to route the output to an input and track it like an external instrument. That said, you *should* be able to just internally route an output to an input, no?

Kurzweil PC3 reviewed in Keyboard Mag 12/08

I just got one, B stock. It won't replace my K2600R for sampling, but for live work, OMG, it soooooooo very sweet. Run, do not walk, and try out one of these. You will NOT be disappointed.
