A lot of Hard-core, Metal and Punk guys use it hand held for recording. Looks weird, but its better for them cause that gives them that "live" feel.

Is there a website or a cheap (preferably free) software to make plans for a mixing desk? I recently bought a table saw and I'm planning on doing a desk soon cause the one that I'm using right now is too small. Thanks in advance. :)

I think the SM7 sound much fuller, better bass, all around better. The 57 sound more honkier? Although sometimes they sounded somewhat similar. Thanks for taking the time, man.

I have the Antares one and i use it regularly. Not much as a simulator, but as a tool to give a different color to a mic. And you are right, you are never gonna make a 57 sound like a U87, but is useful. I like it.
