Boy 80-8 takes me back to the 80,s. If you use a 80-8 I would look for a newer mixer that is quiet. The old teac tascam mixers from the 80,s were noisy. Mackie has mixers with a b mix 4 or 8 outs and a out for every channel if needed.

I have used L-1, mixum,ozone,and renaissance. Usually +1 to +3 dbs of L-1 or maxim is all it needs. For less compressed sound to my ears I will use renaissance on opto fat. GT

There is a noise reduction in or out switch on the back panel. So turning this switch to the out does not take the dolby with the possibly bad part out of the machines circuit? GT

The channel outs are working. I tested by feeding the two outs to other channels on my board. They work fine. Wow bad cards? I heard a bit about some of these machines had bad caps. I wonder what is going bad on the cards. I am not sure where to start? GT.
