    Recording @ home

If you are having trouble hearing yourself then your PA is no where near the level of needing a compressor on the output, and if that's the case then you have is no way of putting the compressor insert to FOH only so you will be compressing your monitor signal as well and that makes feedback a...

    Snare and vocal

I use hit point detection in cubase all the time. It's simple and precise not sure what you're talking about.

    Snare and vocal

I belove there's a button in hit point editor that says creat midi notes from hit points. Then chose which note is snare in your drum sampler of choice and create.

    Snare and vocal

Just checked in Cubase Studio 5 (I don't have the full cubase 5) but it has hitpoint detection as well, edit the snare waveform then on under hitpoint change the sensitivity to only get snare hits and export as midi and BAM you have triggered midi notes for ehatever your favorite drum program is.

    A motion control surface?

The problem with software based error correction is ok say you take out the twitchyness of our unsupported hands in space, then how will you make minute edits? How would the software differentiate between twich and small wanted adjustment? There is a reason that photographers use tripods...

    Snare and vocal

Sucks cause the rest of the mix is pretty good, what audio program are you using? Cubase 6.5 has built in triggering that works damn well and very easy to do.

    Snare and vocal

Yeah pretty nasty to begin with maybe in a jazz trio but not a rock snare sound by any means. If I couldn't re record after tuning it properly I would also check out sample replacement. Then A/B with your drummer there so he learns how important drum tuning is and that guitarists aren't the...

    Snare and vocal

If the vocal mic picked up snare bleed(which is entirely possible) then a phase issue is not unimaginable and as simple as flipping polarity is I'd go there first before eq

A lot of treble in my recording?

Have you tried pressing the remove treble button it's next to the any key.

    Snare and vocal

Have you tried reversing phase or polarity on the snare/vocal to see if that helps? You should be able to notch a slight cut in the snare around 2K and slight boost the same small notch in the vocals, I do this trick on my kick and bass so they play nicer with each other, just remember to keep...

Need help choosing USB or Firewire interface

As I've said before at this moment in time USB is the most future proof interface connection type as firewire is making it's way out and USB 3 and thunderbolt making their ways in. At least USB 3 will be backwards compatible so anything you buy usb 2 now will at least work later, after so many...

    A motion control surface?

Sorry that was mean, here's a good experiment to show that this is not good for finite adjustments, hold your finger out in the air in front of a spot in space and don't move it....good luck.

Should I get a preamp for my home recording

    A motion control surface?

QUOTE "It’s more accurate than a mouse.........................the Leap can distinguish your individual fingers and track your movements down to a 1/100th of a millimeter." Yeah and the bible is real because IT says it is too.

    A motion control surface?

I just can't imagine that it would be very high resolution making it useless for editing or fader moves.

Should I get a preamp for my home recording

What you're talking about is actually a channel strip a preamp is basically just that, a gain knob, some have other knobs for output or headphones but a preamp will not have any processors in it. What monitors are you using? Room treatment? I'd start with treating room and decent monitors...

A song about my beliefs... please help!!

There's only one way to feel his words doesn't sound like spiritual freedom and no more religions, it sounds like one specific religion is the only way to find your "truth" Just sounds a little hypocritical
