How would you mimic the sound of a theramin?

Synth would be the easiest way i believe. You should try some softsynths if you dont own any hardware one. The slide on the guitar and the pitch shifter sounds nice too! Try it. Perhaps it wont sound exactly as a theremin but i think the result could be really interesting

I think this post has gone too far. 80 posts in 3 days? This should have had ended when someone answered "basically they are both the same mic"

Recording each drum individually and then playing them like a drum machine

I think ill drop the idea. Ill get angood drummer and ill treat my room. It works fornpomplamoose with thier funky style, but i doubt it will work for the krautrock beat i have in mind

Recording each drum individually and then playing them like a drum machine

But actually I heard Jack Conte from Pomplamoose records his drums that way. I think it works well for him, perhaps not with every musical genre and anyway I think it involves lots of practice and experimentation

Recording each drum individually and then playing them like a drum machine

Yeah, that's what I was fearing. I agree, drums without OHs suck, so I guess Ill have to treat my room before anything else

Recording each drum individually and then playing them like a drum machine

Ok im not a trained drummer, I just have a kit home for band rehearsals. My last band is on a type of hiatus since one of the guitar players and the drummer are out of the country for a year. I do know how to play drums, but im far from being great. Ive been trying to record a beat but I just...

Will Naiants be a pain in the ass?

They akk look sweet. I think Ill be getting X-O's because they are the largest ones and Im not very handy with small things haha

Will Naiants be a pain in the ass?

Well, Ill get them in a week. As kip said, for that price and quality I'll find a use for them. Even if they dont work so great on drums due to my room, they could have some use close to the source

Will Naiants be a pain in the ass?

And hey chicken, that recording sounds nice! Naiants deffinitely seem to be very good mics . My only concern is their pattern given my room conditions

Will Naiants be a pain in the ass?

@moresound LOL @guitaristic well my ceilings are about 8' tall, room is 15'x10' @kip4 actually I have seen your review, it was very helpful! Thats why I decided to go for them. I think you're right, at that price I can find a use for them. On drums they would be used as overheads. I like...
