    open wavelab in sx?

So I tried this 'external wave editor' thing and now Wavelab does open when I dbl click on a track. The problem is however, after I edited that track in Wavelab I can not save it. I always get this error message saying "The file could not be renamed. Please make sure that the disk is not write...

    Improved my bass recordings :(

I'd definitely go with the Bass V-amp. It's an amazing tool that allowes you to create almost any sound you want to.

creating a backup of the songs

I've been recording in Cubase 5.1. for a while now and have a lot of unfinished songs, wich means my hard drive is full of wav. files. Whenever I finish a song I just save the result to an audio cd, but how can I make some sort of backup from all the wav. files a song is made of. Also, If let's...

Please tell me what this mix needs - Audioslave cover

I love the whole album too. Never been too much of a RATM fan to be honest but I have almost every Soundgarden album. I think the combination of Chris with the RATM guys is just awesome. I can’t wait to see them live sometime. It says on the album that all sounds on it are made either on guitar...

Please tell me what this mix needs - Audioslave cover

Khompewtur - So what if the audioslave album is still pretty recent? A song doesn't have to be old to cover it. I just enjoy making them.. B.SABBATH - The intro lol, I still have to record it. The little part you heard was some midi-organ sound, but Tom M. plays is on guitar on the original, so...

Please tell me what this mix needs - Audioslave cover

I made a cover of Audioslave's "I am the highway". I've been mixing it over and over again and I just can't seem to get it right. Somehow the vocals don't fit into the mix, I don't know. I will have to do them over, but before I can do so I need to know how the recording can be improved...

    monitors & headphones

Bedankt voor de info Christiaan;)! If I understand this correctly you plug your headphones in to your preamp? I could do this but then how can you record anything, while listening to earliear recordings or your pc's metronome? This is a problem cause I use the headphones a lot. My soundcard...

    monitors & headphones

I've been recording for a while, using my home stereo system as output. It sometimes sounds great through my system but it can totally suck on others. That's why I decided to buy monitors, but where to begin. 1. I'll be hooking them up straight to my soundcard, so I guess I'll need active...

Drum machines: How close can you get?

It's very hard if not impossible to tell Fruity Loops from the real thing.. if you do it right. Change the volume of the snare, hihat etc. This does take a lot of time and effort but eventually you will get it right. I use the Tom Hicks samples. They are really good. You can download them here...

    drawing volume levels

Doubleclick on the audio track to open it in the audio editor. In the Audio editor, click the View pop-up menu on the toolbar and make sure that Dynamic Events is ticked. With this option enabled, audio events should appear as though split in half horizontally, with the waveform displayed in the...

    Coldplay cover

Well, the keys are all midi. I use a Roland PC-180 midi-board, which I bought second hand and very cheap. I haven't actually bought any vst-instruments, so I use the ones that are free (in which you usually have to dig very deep to come up with a decent sound). The best ones I found so far are...

    Coldplay cover

Coldplay cover (THE RIGHT LINK) I'm not particulary a fan of Coldplay, but since I'm learning how to play keyboard/piano, I made a cover of their latest single, which has a lot of piana and keys. I did the guitar, bass, keys, piano and vocals myself. I made the drums on my computer. The quality...
