Rendering in Reaper is killing my sound quality, please help!

I would like to know how to do that. Every "audio" CD I've ever made is limited by the number of minutes of music I want to put on it. I once thought I could put 100 MP3 files on a cd and then I could let it play for 5 hours, but that aint the case. The only way to put 100 MP3 files on a cd is...

    computer vs. multitrack

At least you grew up. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a handicap in my world. When everyone else was growing up, I was jogging around the state capitol trying not to get harrassed by all the Qorridor Queens on south 15th street. Couldn't wait to move outa that hood.....

    Vocal Effects (Harmonies, etc)

And you came here to "HOME" recording, where nobody can afford anything close to that, just to rub our noses in it and make sure we feel lower than dogs about how obvious it is to you. Flattering......

how to EQ a wolfy bass?

All of that banter and not one person mentioned fixing it at the source? Change the bass sound at the source so that when you record it and play it back it doesn't sound wooofy. Don't fix it in the mix.

    Wrong midi data

You sure about the cable? There is another 5 pin cable that looks exactly like a midi cable but it is wired differently. If you are using the wrong cable then your midi data would end up scrambled like this, because the pin wiring is in a different order.

Recording equipment set up required for near professional sound quality for guitar

When you say...... what do you mean by "crap?" Are you able to record a sample and convert it to MP3 (or a very short wav file) and post it some where so we can hear it? Do you have some way of seeing on a meter what the signal level is when you record?

MIDI confusion and frustration..simple fix help needed

The specs on the Venom say it is "4 part multi-timbral" which means your keyboard will play 4 different instruments or "voices" at once, on 4 different midi channels. You say you have two midi tracks recorded. Is each track set to play back on a different midi channel? For example, the piano...

    computer vs. multitrack

jimmys69 is right. Try Reaper first, get a feel for the things you need to know that apply to all programs. Then try more demos. Only you can ultimately decide if it is worth the extra money to you (first time purchase price, and on-going upgrades have prices too) to have the different "look and...

    computer vs. multitrack

If you go DAW, Reaper is the best. If you cant figure it out in Reaper, then why waste $200. $300. $400 or more on Cubase, Sonar, or *hack, spit* Pro Tools? If you figure it out in one, then you can figure it out in any of them, but by that time you will realize that Reaper is way more powerful...

    Help with guitar tone

There is a good place to start. That is a ton of mid and hi mid frequency boost! Presence on 8 AND a BBE Sonic Stomp with (hi process) on 7?? No wonder it sounds too bright. Your "live" sound may sound great to your ears in a room standing 10 or 20 feet away from the speakers, but microphones...

    Question...MIDI Drums?

Save yourself a bunch of time and just spend the $199 bucks to get EZ Drummer and a couple of expansion packs. Then you will have drag-n-drop drum tracks at your fingertips. I used to make drumtracks by playing drums on my piano keyboard, works fine if you can play drum parts with your...

Video Comparison - Fender Texas Special and Dimarzio Area '61

I like what you are doing. And I think everything you say about your impressions of the pickups is accurate. If it were me playing that guitar and that style of music, I wouldn't hesitate to use the Area 61's and sell those Texas Special's as fast as I could. Especially on the clean stuff at the...

    Bluebird Baby Bottle or Bluebird?

Until you start spending hundreds or thousands of dolares, this is all you will ever get. Even if you get the $10,000 dollar mic and plug it into the gear you have you might still only hear a very slight difference. And don't buy a mic if you have any inkling that you only want it because you...
