Mp3 Hosts - What do you like/dislike about them?

I second that! Stats 'n Stuff is entertainment. Also a visitor's box (they don't have to sign in) and give the tune a thumbs up or thumbs down.

Drift in recording...foaming at the gums here

If you are using a MIDI interface, you might want to check out the SMPTE syncronization. If you are using loops, make sure you have enabled snapping... I doubt that's the problem. Sorry, that's all I can come up with!

    Applying EQ question

Try it and listen yourself - apply the effect to all your tracks and listen to the tune in multitrack view. If there is a track you are unsatisfied with, you can go back to the wav editor and undo the effect for that particular track. If you think everything sounds Not Too Good, the easiest way...

    pawn shoppin for bass

Entwistle used Marshall / Sunn Coliseum guitar amps (during the 70's) at full treble/no bass for the high end as you say. He used bass amps (full bass) and cabs for the low end at the same time. I won't say anything about Squire, the Stevie Nicks of bass players. But the point is, if you plug...

Well, on the bright side - the drums sound more like Keith Moon than Kenney Jones :D

    Boiling Strings ?

I used to boil bass strings as a quick fix, and it work out totally OK, but the boiled result seemed to "wear out" quicker than a new set would. I never thought too much about boiling guitar strings - as everyone says, they're a dime a dozen (I have a 12 string) and it might prove to be a...

    Adobe Audition 1.5 RAM requirements

I don't know if you mean playback in the multitrack view or just in general, but if you are applying effects via the FX parameter envelopes (non destructive) rather than going via the wav editor, it will eat up RAM and slow things down a lot. Also, you might want to take a look at...

Is it wrong to like The Edge?

No reason for shotguns here! I can understand how you feel as you state you are 20 years of age. U2 was big when you were growing up, and nobody is going to tell you Elvis Presley was a better singer than Bozo and get away with it. :p

    The OLD Cool Edit Pro

I do not understand - all my *.cel files from Loopology work fine with my Adobe Audition 1.5! What kind of error are you getting? What does it say?

    listening to hendrix

So if I am getting you right, you believe Hendrix never had the chance to evolve into a great artist, as he died. He simply dabbled with guitar playing while doing LSD and managed to make a few weird noises, which was cool in hippy days. That's interesting... Very early Pink Floyd had it's...

    If Jimi didn't die

There is some truth to what you say, but have you actually listened to Hendrix? :) He wasn't a Monkee or a Rolling Stone :)

Hard Rock song- NATION OF ROCK!

Good spread on the guitar(s) Drums are a little dead, reverb? Vocals could be put a little more out front, possibly with a little reverb The leads need something, they sound sort of dead and mono. Maybe some reverb and floating in back of the tune? They lack salt n pepper. No spice. The bass...

    If Jimi didn't die

I never thought that Clapton would have chosen the road he took. What a waste :(

    If Jimi didn't die

What would he be doing? I can speculate he would have done some some very heavy recorded stuff during the 70's, he could have been the biggest act of the time, although I doubt his stage show would have changed that much. A couple less-than-great LPs and drug addiction caused him to give it up...

    listening to hendrix

Yeah, some people compare SRV (he too, became larger than life after an early demise) with Jimi, and I can accept that. Hendrix can be heard doing some absolutly amazing shit recorded over 35 years ago that still make today's guitarists eyes pop out like VW bugs. WHAT AN IMPACT the guy had. He...

    pawn shoppin for bass

Yes, that's what I am assuming. If he wants it to sound like a guitar, he should get a bass amp and use a tube screamer. Won't hurt anything? The act very well may cause some major damage to the speakers (blown to fuckdom) and it's worth taking extreme caution, especially if he plans on turning...
