What mic combo would be best for the for the leslie, my thoughts are the MXL 990 for the top and the SM57 for the top... anythoughts?

How would on mic a grand, or for that matter an upright. Also how would one mic a Leslie? I have SM-58's SM-57s and MXL 990s... Let's hear it folks

I am going to be recording a Laney Fusion combo amp with a tube pre-amp, direct out and red rocket 50 celestion speaker in it. I want to know how to get the best sound. Do I use the direct out? Do I use My MXL 990 or my SM57? If so in what knid of room? From what didtance? I use three settings...
