Arrgh!! This is why I hate mail orders...

I totally agree. It's a supply issue on Fostex's side. I've been buying other gear form MF for many, many years. When my MR-8 order was cancelled, I bought my VF80 from them :) -sV

Arrgh!! This is why I hate mail orders...

Here's the email I got from Musician's Friend: ---------------------------------- "Dear Musician Thank you for your recent order. Unfortunately, the item(s), or Blem item you ordered is no longer available. FOSTEX MR8 " ------------------------------------- I received this on March 19th...

Arrgh!! This is why I hate mail orders...

I had the same issue w/ MusiciansFriend. The MR-8 was perpetually out-of-stock. I went as far as ordering it, only to have my order cancelled 3-weeks after I placed the order. I finally bit the bullet and got a VF80...which ended up being a very good decision. I'm extremely happy w/ the...

    Monitors?

Right....powered monitors can further amplify the signal. This is what makes them ideal....as opposed to something non-powered (such as headphones).

    Monitors?

Actually, I have a VF80....... I use the digital-out (coax) on the VF80 to go into the digital-in (coax) on the MA-10Ds. Digital is the way to go here.....and don't bother with unpowered monitors. -sV

    VF80 digital input slowdown

Has anyone else experienced this? I have a computer-based drum sequencer. I'll create a stereo .WAV of my drum track, and export it as a 44khz/16bit file. I then record to the VF80 via the digital input. When I playback the recorded track, it is much slower than it should be. I can change...

VF80 and Loop vs. Insert Effects

Okay......I just need to make sure that I understand something. Please correct me if the following statement is false: With the VF-80, the only time you need to re-record a track (to record the effect) is when using the Insert effects. The Loop effects can be assigned to existing tracks...

    I can't find an MR-8 anywhere!!!!

Well...... In early February I finally decided between the VF-80 and the MR-8. I placed my order (even though the MR-8 was on back-order) and waited. I then noticed that just about every other online vendor, that carried the MR-8 was on back order as well. This morning I received notice that...

    MR-8 Questions!

The only Macs that come standard with USB 2.0 are the new G4s (the ones that also come with Firewire 800 and were introduced last month). If you have purchased an after-market USB 2.0 board, your USB 1.0/1.1 devices will still work. The USB 2.0 spec is backwards compatible with earlier...

    Drum plug-ins

Hello, I'm looking for recommendations for plug-in based drums. I lay my initial tracks on a Fostex MR-8, and then transfer individual tracks to BIAS Deck 3.5.x. The only piece i'm missing right now is Drums. I'd rather go with a software-based drum solution. anyone here have experience...
