Alchuck, I don't know is that deserved a LOL because when I bought my SB Plat I didn't know much about hooking it up either, I called tech support and they walked me through it and were very helpful.

I switched software to Nuendo, and that *seemed* to solve the problem. It still is somewhat unclear as Samplitude would take several recorded tracks before it would start acting up, but I am hopefule. Thanks for the help :)

I know this is a very newbie question, but I have just switched from Samplitude which was giving me endless problems with crackling, to Nuendo which sounds clean as a whistle. The only problem is that with Nuendo I am getting serious latency, whereas with Samplitude, I had never even noticed...

I disabled my USB port by disabling "OnChip USB" in my CMOS, but it had no effect. I have also tried recording on my original C drive to see if the problem might be local to the D/E drive, but on the C drive I am getting the same problem. Man, this is really frustrating..
