HomeRec Collab! Freudian, Gorty, & Greg - Strutter!

Thanks for finding that info ! I checked Washburns site for about 6months after the first time I saw it and they weren't breathing a word about it then. They've got it at AMS too, but I have to play it first, I'm not a collector so it has to be functional for me, bad part is it looks like I'm...

HomeRec Collab! Freudian, Gorty, & Greg - Strutter!

Dang, and I was at 2 different GC's this week, probably walked right by them (I was set on the mic department). I haven't looked in a couple months, but I couldn't find any info at all on them at all initially except for an old pic of one in a Silvertone box. Thanks Greg_L !

Good shots. Anybody know where that guitar came from ? I think (but really don't know) these are currently being made by Washburn but not available to the public. I found a pic where I could enlarge it and the name on the headstock looks like Washburn. I've been tryin to find out where you...

The Clash - Clash City Rockers

Nice Job ! Sounds like something I might hear on the radio from that genre..., mix, music , vocals all sounds there and right ! I'm not familiar with that song so it sounded brand new to me which was cool.

Yes, Oh Yes........I'm a Digital Dumbass!

I don't own it so I can't swear to it but You should be fine with that combo. I have that Alesis which is very similar to the Firepod and I use Cakewalk Home Studio 2004 XL, however here Lately I've been messin with both Reaper and Cubase LE with no problems.

Fostex VF160 No Sound out of Left Side

This doesn't sound so good....obviously. Just as a wild chance, check your bus settings and make sure everything is normal.(I have a VF16 so It's a little different) Other than that, unless there is a fuse for each side (there is on lots of stereo amps) it sounds like you may have to send it...

    Explorer style guitars

LOL, I have to agree. I was just at GC not 20 minutes ago, walked in and this moded v type guitar with black and cool silver edges just jumped right out at me, looked cool until I saw that gigantuous Dean headstock, actually looked bigger than normal. @ Perceive, Aria pro used to make an...

Yes, Oh Yes........I'm a Digital Dumbass!

Make it a Texas Instruments based firewire card too. From all the research I've done, it seems these (TI based cards) are less problematic. I have a laptop card (PCMCIA) Texas Instruments based that was not only cheap (22$ w/a 10$ rebate @ CC) but was completely painless to install. I don't...

16,000th Thread in the Mic Forum. [Sterling Audio Mics]

Good advice ! The one I used to go to a while back would let me do just about anything and had at least one person that I knew first hand had a fair bit of real world studio and giging experience. Plus, He would let me bring back a mic if it didn't suit me, (he probably shouldn't ....health...

16,000th Thread in the Mic Forum. [Sterling Audio Mics]

At least according to the guy's at GC yesterday....you are dead on about that. They tried to get me to buy the model 55 (I forget the prefix, SA or something) it was 200$, one of them claimed it to be (the model 55) the single most crystal clear mic they'd ever heard.....this after spending the...

Yes, Oh Yes........I'm a Digital Dumbass!

I just bought an Alesis io26 firewire audio interface (whew....!) that's proving to be invaluable to me. Work's like a charm with minimal fussing around from me, which is a good thing. Might be a little overkill depending on what your needs are. Yes !...:D

    Monitor humm only when idle?

That struck me as odd too. I've set up a few here in the last year or so and they are without ground. Being familiar with their noisy power supplies, I've been wondering if that had anything to do with their decision. As someone mentioned earlier, you can tell if this is your problem by simply...

    Monitor humm only when idle?

Agreed, definitely not something you want to do, but may have to.
