Is there a simpler solution for monitor volume control?

I don't have any old analogue mixers :( I'm using an alesis multimix 16 - it has main mix outs but it's controlled by the main mix slider which also affects the input. Maybe there is another way i can hook it up?

Post-Hardcore mix for my band/school project

+1 those high pitch synths sound a little weird to me too - this is like some Attack Attack type music so I can't be very helpful as I can not condone it...

New song "Echoes" Need mixing advice!!!

It sounds all crazy to me - it's like unsettling and doesn't seem like it ever kicks into a rhythm. Like its starting over again and again. Mix sounds ok it's the drum track that sounds a little weird.

    Cradle to the Grave

Dunno how I missed this thread before. Panning all sounds great. Vocals sound crazy - I like em. Nice strings that come in around 2:18 (or synth or whatever the hell that is :) ) great guitar at 3:26 The second verse seems to conflict with the drums to me for some reason. Nice track dude, i...

Is there a simpler solution for monitor volume control?

I need a volume control between my interface output and my monitors... right now I have to power off my monitors everytime I overdub a vocal track, I just want a simple volume knob and maybe a mute button - the cheapest thing I have seen is this behringer thing Behringer Minimon MON800 |...

Does Cubase allow you to normalize tracks?

here is the rub - Cubase Le 4 doesn't have channel trim... if it did I probably wouldn't have to normailze everything! :laughings: but I can just normalize to a lower level if I need to instead of 0 :D

Does Cubase allow you to normalize tracks?

Sheite! Well now there is a reason to stop normalizing everything to 0!!! Thanks dude, I'm glad you stuck with this cause this makes total sense and I can now apply it to my mixing! That's the first time I clearly understood exactly why it was bad :) thanks man - good to know! You must...

    Probably a Stupid Question....

Most programs that require a registration allow you to "un-register" on one computer and it enables registration on a new computer, well if they use internet license validation anyway - programs like Photoshop. Remember Guitaristic, there are no stupid questions, just stupid people...

BC Rich Bich - Blackstar HT-Dual - Fender Frontman 25R

LOL! If that closet door was a mirror you would see it :p I'm so mad, I forgot to turn it on in the new video  -0 you like the new video Henry? That is actually an old photo - there are 3 more traps there now - two 2'x4'x8" gobo's in each corner and a 2'x4'x4" in between the guitar and...

Does Cubase allow you to normalize tracks?

I add VST's and stuff but they don't change the source wave. The faders still work - there is no clipping ever - Wave (normalized to 0) -> VST's EQ/verb compressor, whatever -> fader -> stereo mix... In Cubase the plug-ins add gain but they don't affect the original wave file - you can just...

Does Cubase allow you to normalize tracks?

my normalization in cubase doesn't allow half steps - isn't zero the peak of the wave without clipping? What difference does it make if it's -18, -.5 or 0? it doesn't affect the signal, it just makes it easier for me to mix it. You think my mix will sound better if I reduce the amount of...

Does Cubase allow you to normalize tracks?

My drum track is a kit triggering EZdrummer samples - so that set's the bass line volume for the track. If I am recording with my drummer and we are playing a song through the PA, the volumes are good for the guitar. Later when I am retracking the guitar I often have the amp turned down a lot...
