    Where are you located

I'm in Roswell, not the UFO crash site, the Atlanta suburb. Although technically in the south, Atlanta is definitely not your typical southern town, which is good cause I grew up in Detroit and St. Louis. So I'm a northerner at heart. Also I have been canoeing here and never once heard a...

    New Song: Dirt

thanks PI, AC and BB for the comments - hope this new version fixes the issues described above. OK, I retracked the bass and some of the guitar parts, added some more vocal parts, and remixed the whole thing. Also cut out about a minute to tighten the arrangement up. It's changed quite a bit I...

    New Song: Dirt

Thanks dude - yeah we found a bassist on CL - I think we did that recording on his 4th or 5th time playing with us. So hes working out great. I wrote that song almost a year ago but was waiting for a bass player to develop it as the Looper bass line just wasn't cutting it :) We are going to...

    New Song: Dirt

Thanks dude. Thanks for checking it out. I'm a longtime Butthole Surfer fan. I agree - need to pull the bass back in the final mix. That should help define the guitars some too. This is all scratch - might be able to keep the drum track but will probably re-record the whole thing - I wanted to...

    New Song: Dirt

Thanks TS - Not sure what the synth is - it's a sample in a library that came on a HDD I bought for my ASR-10 Thanks Ray - yeah this is just a recording from band practice, but I wanted to mess with it a bit to get an idea for the mix. There is a lot of sloppy performance in there. This is all...

    New Song - Albuquerque

Low end sounds fine here. Mix sounds nice and balanced. Guitars sounds great. I duuno why but the word "Albuquerque" just cracks me up - maybe cause it rhymes with turkey? :D sounds good Chili - your new setup is fine hehe - you just sang Albuquerque again - damn thats a hard word to spell...

To Chorus or Not to Chorus? That is the Question.

Reminds me of that chasing the dragon guy.. steely dan. :) Sounds pretty good - on my monitors the vocals seemed to lack brightness, might want to check the EQ highs. I think the melody line is fine instead of a chorus. You could just try one and see which you like better. I also agree the...

title cut from the album "The Time is Magic"

I want that bass to come up - its some funky sh*t. break is cool but I think the freaky sounds in the break are a little too pronounced. maybe beef up the bottom end of the rhythm guitar doing the low notes panned to the left. I like it man -

How does this track sit with you? Mix...song...vocals....

There are a few pitchy parts in the vox (on some high notes and transitions), could probably fix it with some minor pitch correction or just overdub those parts. Overall mix sounds pretty decent. Sounds a little over produced musically but that's probably just my taste in music.

Vaginasaurus Rex - another retarded disasterpiece from the mind of Greg

Sounds good dude. Backing vocals are perfect. I like the delay on the Rex. Solo works nice too. Good stuff

Any tricks to eliminating a carpet...?

We have a bamboo "rug" (mat I guess would be the proper description) in our hallway over our carpet. So that would probably be a pretty easy fix. I have carpet in my studio but I don't record live drums which is where I think it makes the most difference. Would probably be pretty easy to get a...
