    Poltergeist Vocals?

Remember in the movie Poltergeist how there was that erie lead-in to the little girls voice when she was in the other dimension, or whatever? I think Rush did it too on the last song on "Permanent Waves". What is the method for doing that technique, anyone know?

What's the best MIDI Editor for Twiddly Bits?

Can anyone reccommend the best MIDI editor with a 'drag and drop' interface for stringing together bars of existing MIDI data? My current editor is really not set up for this and is too cumbersome. Twiddly Bits are Midi Drum files recorded by real professional drummers. Each .mid file has 16...

Still cant get the basics of copy/pasting tracks

I am finding it very difficult to copy a bar or more of midi events and pasting it into another midi track, either through the music notation window, or through the bar window. When it looks like everything went well, then I play the new track and there is none of the pasted material there...

Problems Loading GM Drumset Soundfont into SB Live!

never mind Never Mind, got it figured out. When I load a Twiddly Bits .mid file, it creates about 16 different drum tracks that all play at the same time, so you have to mute all of them except one. Plus I happened to select a conga drum section of the mid file. Sheesh.

Problems Loading GM Drumset Soundfont into SB Live!

I downloaded a couple of multi-layered drum kits from http://www.hammersound.net. I was able to decompress them and load them up in bank 10 of the SB Live Audio HQ and all appeared to go well. The memory was reallocated appropriately. The problem is that after I loaded up the soundfont it says...

16-bit sound "on-board" with God Speed Gentlemen!!!!!!!!

The Most of the onboard stuff on motherboards is absolute bottom-dollar junk. It's the only way the MoBo manufacturers can compete and still make a profit. You should be able to disable the sound either through a BIOS setting or a jumper on the board.

    USB or Not??? IMPORTANT!!!!!

To be, or not USB . . . USB is nothing more than a couple of plug-ins on the back of the box, and has become standard on most systems for almost 2 years now, a year and a half anyway. Most systems have 2 USB ports, some 4. Just ask the salesman if the computer has USB ports or not. If he...

    SBLive Soundfont MIDI Playback question

For MIDI playback the SBLive gives me choices of Creative S/W Synth, a: SBLive! MIDI Synth, or b: SBLive! MIDI Synth, or MIDI out. I want to be able to playback the soundfont banks I have loaded. OK, maybe the a: and b: are left and right stereo channels? Which one should I select?

    PC COMPONENTS

Components Hey, I build computers for a living and here's my advice: Decide what processor to get, then find the motherboard to match. Good motherboards are: Asus, Abit, Biostar, SOYO. With processors it's a jungle out there. For instance, there are 6 different Pentium 600 processors out...

I just loaded on the APS drivers for my SB Live Value card, and now it appears my Soundfont cache is limited to just 32 megs. Am I doing something wrong, or is the result of the EPS software overriding the SB Live software? Does anyone know of a work-around, because I really like the APS...
