hello, i'm wanting to get an old 424 or 426, but am a little aprehensive, are they easy enough to fix if anything went wrong with them?
What will time and overuse do to the heads? How can this be resolved?
Thanks
Anything mackie is good, anything roland is not good, i hate my roland nearfields, Switch at the back, DUM, hissing sound costant and irritating, me DUM for buying. Good keyboards roland, but that's it.
Manufacturers use different types of capacitors for different reasons, cost effectiveness being one of the biggest. Funnily enough Boss effects seem to use a large amount of polys in most of their circuits. Electrolytics are the worst for stability etc but are still used for filters etc.
Yeah, i had a roland zip disk multitracker which just pissed me off when working with it though. The amount of time needed to think about what your doing and start recording etc. It just bored me, and made me feel that penning a song was such an effort there wasn't much point. I just need...
Hello everyone, i am looking for a tape based multitrack recorder preferably 6 or more tracks. I have used the digital ones but they really don't interest me, and are not the best for recording ideas quickly. Any opinions on old and new devices, the tascam 246 caught my eye, any one want to...
No, totally agree with the more conservative approach, i just have great sounding distortion and clean channels already. I hate  guitarists jacking off to themselves playing endless solo's with no poignancy. I love, well, energy in music that drives someone to feel something, it's...
Yeah, i've been doing that, the only problem is getting the parts, like i built a fuzz face (dead easy to build) bought the components along with some germainium transistors, i got the exact coded transistors but when bulit i had to thrash the guitar strings to get any sound out of it, and when...
Your mixing desk preamp will also increase the level in your signal before it is sent back out via insert. This will inheret less noise due to it becomming line level so it shouldn't really matter.
Hello everyone, i posted earlier asking if anyone new of a stomp that equals the crazyness of a DOD punkifier. I was pointed in the direction of the ProCo rat for over the top synthetic fuzz, but which would you recommend. I know the deuce looks like the best bet but, i am on a relatively small...
hah, lol, i really was just about to buy a behringer ultradistortion pedal £13, man sorry behringer, your stomps arent bad enough to create the ultimate badness i'm looking for, but not good enough to create the ultimate badness i'm looking for. I wonder if i bought and tied 10 behringer...
Hello, i was wanting to add something different to my set up, and was thinking if any of you own but don't get on with this pedal then i would be willing to exchange it for some money. I have a paypal account etc and live in the UK.
Any stomp similar to DOD Punkifier?
Hello, everybody, i'm a torn pureist, i've got a tele, twin reverb and mesa amp and love plugging my guitar in dry with some lovely spring reverb. I'm melody based and do think that a good written song does not need any effects to prove it's worth. But, i...
What do you mean by re-biased? I have a hum balance pot and an output balancing pot. I thought if you buy any matched 6L6 tube Quads i wouldn't need to tamper with anything.
I will be able to recap the amp myself (i'm an inst. tech and have built effects before). But what will i have to watch...
They seem reasonably priced £60 for a matched power quad,
"Amp Guru Andy Ruhl's comments:
This is a nice sounding tube and the quality seems to be getting better and better. Ruby's guarantee is the best there is, so that should be enough reason to check them out. The sound is similar to the...
Excellent, thanks for that, i actually thought the user before me installed some wrong preamp valves and was worried about the stain it might have had on the amp.
