"TASCAM is credited as the company that invented the Portastudio, one of the first affordable multi-track home studio recorders. It is one of four divisions of Teac Corporation, headquartered in Japan."
I would definatly go with the EMU 0404, the DSP software is so configurable and easy to use with usable effects. The M-Audio card is pretty dificult to set up depending on the software your using, my friend had a hell of a time setting up MIDI with it. I didn't help him cause i told him to get...
A little unrelated but - power supplys seem to be the last place to check no matter what. I was gigging and during sound check was wondering why a buzzing sound was coming through the speakers, my lexicon effects unit was making a high freq buzzing sound aswell, which was a big clue cause it's...
Was this like a bet, "oh i bet £200 you wont be able to pick this up " cause they were pretty heavy? Sorry my jokes have been getting worse since joining BBS
I hate to be cruel, but we've had everyone's favourite 4-tracks, what about your arch enemy 4-tracks. The ones that break and laugh in your face as you hold your 1 day out-of-warranty receipt? I have to start off with the Tascam - MFP01, my friend bought one and it looked and felt horrable and...
I doubt it would be good for DBX's business if they did hand over a schematic to roland and allowed them to multiply as there is a DBX model out there i think it's the 266XL mabye, which is of the 160 family (but is supposedly not that good). I have the 166XL - its a great workhorse, i'd say its...
They certainly look to be taken care of, i saw a 246 from italy on ebay that was in terrible condition, i would have bid for it and done it up but i went for the 414 on ebay. I won it on Sunday, paid straight after winning the auction but haven't recieved one email from the seller. I think she...
"Line levels (unbalanced inputs) are connected at -10dB" If you connect a preamp to line level it wont clip, where as if you connect it into the mic/inst input it will.
Your Mic/ Inst i/p will have a inbuilt preamp to bring whatever you connect into it up to line level, if you have an external preamp you want to use, you will have to plug it into the line in. Your mic/inst input is for smaller signals like guitar signals etc.
I know everyone loves the 246 but what about the 244, is there any other difference between the two models other than the extra tracks? Is it worth getting one?
Vintage City looks pretty cool, turnkey is a joke, they have a stock "traffic light system" All i wanted was an SM57 + small boom. The site level indication was green and they said i would have to wait 15 days until they restock. I just bought a Fatar 990Pro off of them as it was a good price...
Now my leg aint as good as it used to be,
My eyes don't work and i have to push to pee,

I'll continue down my country road
