    Amazing!!!!! Check It Out!!!

well kinda, before you use the vocal remover, mono signals are equally present in both left and right tracks. When you apply the vocal remover, or reverse the polarity of one of the tracks, the mono signals that were exactly the same in both tracks will NOW be 180 degrees out of phase. Being a...

The only item on the list I have actual experience with is the rode ntk. It's major difference from the other rodes, and maybe why it is more expensive, is that its a tube mic, which means there is actually a tube inside:D (I thought that was pretty cool when I opened it up) and that it needs...

    Amazing!!!!! Check It Out!!!

You can do the same thing by seperating the stereo track into left and right and flipping the polarity (in proper terms:D ) on one of the tracks. Because of the way stereo "works" instruments in the center are heard in both the left and right tracks, but instrument that are panned are balanced...

    Kick Drum Tunnel.

The kick drum tunnel is one of the best sounding "tricks" out there IMHO. When I use it I get a huge fat but still punchy sound. I suppose its almost like what a 6 foot long bass drum would sound like. When I built mine I put the wooden ring at the end of the tunnel and some old speakers where...

    EQing your monitors

The reason some say that's a bad idea is that by putting an eq into the signal chain you may correct the signal in one means, but alter it in another, consequently you really arent solving your problems, just creating new ones. In my opinion your better off just listening to high quality stuff...

very odd, what motherboard were you using? That seems to be the root of the problem from what MOTU's tech support said. Yeah, its weird that you have to install the drivers first

    AMD - MOTU conflict

Hey, I was approaching the final plans for my Daw, when I hear in another thread that Motu has some sort of incompatibility with AMD. SHIT, there goes my dual 2400+ system! (I already have the motu from my current DAW, its the 24i with pci-324 pci card) So I went to motu and found this...

    Mixer Settings

Im not really sure about the mackie board, I dont think it makes a difference, but i would say ideally you want all but one gain stage set to unity. So keep the trim and channel fader at unity, and adjust with only the gain.

I'd say the worst, as mentioned by F_cksia, is when the jackass taking "recording for musicians" in high school (yes I have recorded that kid) comes down after your long mixing sessions in which you do the mixing, not the software, in hopes to impress them, and says, "wow, my teacher told me...

    dvd burner for backup

I wanna build my new DAW with a dvd burner to back up my SONAR projects. I'd also like to have the ability to burn discs my dvd player can read, but thats not as important as the ability to handle the back-up task. I really have no clue what the differences are between dvd+r, dvd-r and dvd-ram...
