    Burning in Wavelab

ok, unfortunately the software isn't mine and it's not at my house( I'm over a friends right now), but i tried bringing over my own burner, with a maximum write speed of 8x, it's an older burner; just to see what would happen. Wavelab still writes at an average of 33x after deccelarating from...

    Burning in Wavelab

When you burn from an audio montage in wavelab you have the ability to select a burn speed, I have like a 40x burner, but i can pick either 1x, 2x, 4x, or 8x. No matter what I pick, the effective burn speed reads somewhere around 40x. Is there anyway to force wavelab to burn at say 1x or 2x for...

    Question on recording concepts.

i know its kinda sad to think like this, but who's gonna be reading this? I know the teachers I've had would fall into two catagories, either they would give me an A for even mentioning memetics, or hear memetics and say "what is this bullshit," as they toss my paper in the garbage. I know I...

shall we all get started with Dolby 5.1?

I would really like to sit in the middle of the New York Philharmonic. I just don't think that enough people are really active enough listeners to appreciate music in such an intricate setting. Surround is good for movies because people will sit there when they have the screen to watch, but...

need a good amp for pop punk

Pop/punk + a hefty budget = Mesa NFG, Blink they all use mesa. In my band, which started as pop/punk, but now is more pop/rock (we grew up) the guitarists both use marshal 4x12s one with a mesa boogie dual rectifier, the other with a peavy classic 50. Both get great tones, so if you could find...

Low Frequency Waves need to develop?

Ethan - Thank you very much for your explanation, both in your post and in your article. Tex - I was only talking about subs for arguments sake really, I'm only concerned with nearfield placement. I guess everything is all right the way I'm doing it now. It's still good to be reassured though...

Low Frequency Waves need to develop?

I read about this in a car audio installation article and saw it mentioned in a thread here. It's not really a studio building question. More of an acoustics one. The article talked about how a subwoofer box should be aimed facing the rear of the car because low frequency waves can be as long...

    motu 2408 mk2 or delta 1010?

At this point in time, I wouldn't bother with the pci-324 card anymore, if you can avoid it. Everything about the pci-424 card is supposed to be better. Plus, getting a system based on the 324 card doesn't really offer any expandability in the upcoming years being that all of motu's new audio...

    Hum!!!!!!!!!

So what you're basically saying is, no computer, no hum, but, if you mute the tracks coming back from the motu there is hum? I don't really know but that sounds like an electrical problem We'll have to wait for a more enlightened response :D Good luck, Eric

    Drumkit from HELL

well the different intensities wouldn't be a problem if the midi was recorded using a vdrum set, my guess would be that's what it was designed for, I find that all drum programming, other than for hip-hop, is a pain, lol Eric

    Dealing with Long recording

Ok... 1.) Go into each new project file where you cut up the songs. 2.) Edit-select all 3.) Edit-apply trimming (this is telling sonar not to "remember" anything outside of what is being displayed. Since sonar is a non-destructive editor it will save everything so that you can get it back later...

    Which mic should I buy???

the AKG D112 is probably the closest thing to an industry standard for kick drum mics, but I use the sennheisser e602 and am getting very good results very easily. I've seen a bunch of other great things about the e602, so you should really consider getting it. Eric
