i have only purchased a headphone amp and a balanced patchbay & a cable tester
I don't like the headphone amp, and have opted to build my own.
The patchbay is not one i would trust for 1000's of insertions, but luckily i'm not using it in that fashion.
Actually, the only thing i've actually...
redco for sure.
or lots of guys sell lots of lots of jacks, connectors, yada yada on ebay.
I bought 40 panel mount xlr jacks. I admit, they are not neutrik and are not high end, but they get signal from point a to point b, and on weekends, point c
interesting. the mute button should be switches that don't require power, except to power the little led's. could be dirty or something.
i'm glad that i purchased new then. Not because i distrust A&H but because at least i have recourse if i find problems with it.
thanks for your help
Firstly, you aren't running compressor "through" your mixer, you're running something from your mix through your compressor. So if the problem is getting that effected "something" back into the mixer you have options.
I believe the cr1604 has inserts on every channel. If you want to compress...
yeah, it is a live console per say. We have outboard preamps and use the console to mix and monitor so i think it'll work great.
What are the flaws you've found in your board?
I own a mackie 32-8. i don't like it. The eq is shit and i just don't need a 32 channel mixer.
I can sell it for $1100-1300, we'll put another $500-800 towards a new one meaning i can spend $1600-$2100 on a new one.
I use outboard preamps and won't be recording through it, but using if for...
i agree with this andy. For me though, i absolutely HATE writing a song by recording it.
I'm of the mindset that i write the best songs when i conceive them, write the guitar or piano rythm and write the vocals as a whole.
For me, and my music, i'm at my best when, once the song is done, i...
viking rock?? there is such a thing? that's great!
Um, i would think that you are looking for a synth, or sampled instrument set that would include mando/banjo/fiddle.
they exist. Whether or not they sound good is another story.
You would use them as a soft synth/sampled set on your PC...
I'm sort of confused because i'm not new to writing songs with an acoustic guitar, and when i write songs, i come up with a few chord changes for a verse, lyrics happen at the same time. Then, some chord changes and lyrics for a chorus.
Then i consider it a song.
If you are talking about...
i believe in the car test too. But i think typically, the test is flawed. This might seem dumb, but when i sit in my car, i sit in the driver seat. And i can say that tracks panned left are louder than those panned right, because i'm sitting on the left.
But is the car test more of test of...
yeah, and you know what, every time i use the fedora on kick drum i think to myself "self, i need something warmer."
So then i come on here and ask "what's the absolute BEST hat for recording kick drum...for rap"
and to that end i applaud your bravery :)
it does take a gut check to knowingly spend $600-$1000 dollars on a bunch of plastic grooves that will sit in a box under the cellar stairs.
been there myself :) in fact....anyone want to buy approx. 300 copies of my crap band's crap record on vinyl?? :)
my old band pressed 500 copies 45rpm. we got them from i think United Record Pressing.
It's not a cheap way to go: both in the aspect of buying them, and the fact that no matter how cool you think they are, no one buys them. EVER. NEVER.
But it is great to have your music on vinyl...
that's also like saying "capacitors and resistors" colour the sound. sure they do. but who cares?
if it sounds good to you it's good to you.
If you're looking to achieve a certain sound or "color" then there might be specific design attributes to look for. If you're not sure what you're...
