when you say "glitched" were you running asio? what were the buffer settings & latency? processor speed & RAM?

to me it depends on brand & budget. bigger is better because upgrading down the road may be a more expensive option than buying wisely now.

well I'm not even going to use SE but record all tracks as .wav,full tracks from start to finish-blank spots & all & bounce or export(whatever the term is in pro tools) so the tracks sync up.

nevermind, I found the answers elsewhere.

I'm new to pro tools and needing to know if can this be done? I'm wanting to do my basic tracks on SE @ home then take them to the big studio which runs either PT 9 & 10 for final tracks & mix/master. the current DAW I use can do this w/ all later release versions.
